Spending time with God, studying HIS Word, singing, praying, worshipping, spending time with family, cooking & eating, gardening, scrapbooking, reading Christian books.
I'm passionate about...
My daily walk with Jesus, and discovering more and more about the pure and holy nature of God.
My story with God
My background is Roman Catholic. I never knew growing up that I could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I was living for myself, doing whatever I pleased, gambling, drinking, partying, telling off-colour stories, dabbling in the occult, yet still going to church on Sundays.
The first time I read the Bible was in 1979. For six months, I was travelling by train four hours a day to get to my job in another city. During this time, I read the New Testament over and over, and really enjoyed reading about Jesus. I found the stories amazing. Even though I was reading the Bible, the revelation of God's truth did not get through to me.
Then in 1997 I had another nudge, while exercising. I distinctly heard a voice say: 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God.' It was so bizarre, that I looked around to see who was talking. No one was in the house. I made a note in my journal, of what I heard that day.
Then in 2003, on April 12th (exactly five years ago today), I was attending an Alpha Course where we could ask all the hard questions. We were discussing 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why did He die?' I realized that I needed to make a choice. The facilitator said that I could be sure of where I would go when I died, and I wanted to be sure. I was at home all by myself, when I invited Jesus into my heart. He came in so lovingly and I experienced real forgiveness for the first time in my life. I was exhilarated and joyful, and I still am.
My husband, Tony did the Alpha Course with me, and said the sinners prayer the following week, but he did not have the experience of being saved until later. It happened on January 6, 2005, while he was listening to a taped message by Jack Frost, 'Hindrances to Receiving the Father's Love'. He then had the awareness: 'It's not about me, it's about Jesus'. What an amazing revelation. Now God had his attention, and his heart. You really know when God has a hold of you. We are both so thankful that we can serve our King together. We are growing in His love and knowledge. God is so Good!
The two most exciting things in my life were when my daughter, Carla, gave her heart to Jesus on October 1, 2006, after I prayed with her, and God delivered her from anxiety. My son Rob and his wife Pam both gave their hearts to the Lord on July 1, 2007 when we were visiting them. We drove 8,000 km on that journey, and it was a pleasure. All the stories are amazing. These precious ones are all on fire to spread the love of God to others. Thank You, Jesus! You are the One who saves us all. Now we are praying for household salvation. There are still a few more to come.
Other stuff about me:
My husband and I both have a heart for mission work. We are planning to build a missionary retreat place in Jequetepeque, Peru, starting in November. God is great!!!

I don't serve God because I have to. I serve HIM because I want to.
I don't love God because I have to. I love HIM because I love HIM!
I'm not obedient to God because I'm afraid of scorching my butt in hell. I am obedient because I want to be an obedient daughter.
I've been a rebel too many years. I'm a sinner saved by the grace of God, and I deserve death, but God chose otherwise. I am a grateful daughter and I know what I've been saved from. I am not going back. I just came from there. I know what it's like. I'm not going back into cursings. I'm going on into blessings.

If you can imagine the greatest love of your life, multiplied by millions, speaking affirmation into your soul, you will have in your mind the awareness of Christ, and the Community of the Trinity.

Saying 'Grace' in a Restaurant

Last week, I was present at a restaurant with my grandchildren. My six-year-old grandson asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said, 'God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!' Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, 'That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream… Continue

Just for LAUGHS

Well, Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called 'Yam.' Of course, they wanted the best for Yam. When it was time, they told her about the facts of life. They warned her about going out and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her into the sack and make a… Continue

The Quest - by: David Damien

For most of my Christian life, I have felt like I was on a quest for something more. I'm sure many of you can relate to this feeling. No matter how wonderful things are in my life or ministry, I have this deep cry in my heart, an insatiable desire to see the glory of God made manifest in the earth through His Body and for the name of the Lord to be feared and honoured even among those who don't yet know Him. And while I am so thankful for every visitation of the Lord (or what we call revival/to… Continue

Embracing the Dream

National Leadership Gathering, David Damien, Watchmen for the Nations - Vision Before the foundation of the world, God had a Dream. It was a dream of a family and a home. God created the earth in all its majesty and wonder and within the earth He layed a jewel of beauty – a garden. And the Lord God took the man and woman that He had created in His very own image and likeness and made the garden their home. And there He rested in intimate fellowship with His family. Then the enemy came. Throug… Continue

What is Mission for the Rural People?

Mission for the Rural People is a team of committed men and women of God dedicated to helping children and the elderly in the Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh; SOUTH INDIA and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We welcome every Christian in our ecumenical mission. Mission for the Rural People is a registered organization.

Eight years ago we set up an orphanage in Vellatur, which is seven hours from Hyderabad by train. At the orphanage we help children abandoned by their parents. An ultimate goal for Good Samaritan Orphanage is to gather 100 helpless and unwanted children. The orphans come from slums, leper colonies, poor families and tribal villages. They come from the streets, rejected by their families and society and left to beg for the very necessities of their lives. In India about 40% of the population suffers because of starvation. They come to us for shelter, clothing, food, education, and the Gospel message. Our main goal is to help and educate poor and needy children. We are helping 58 children now, but this is just a small percentage of those who need help. We do not have any special financial support to run Good Samaritan Orphanage. Everything is funded by the generosity of people like you. We have managed to find sponsors for 26 children, but 32 of them still do not have any regular financial support. We welcome you to become a part of this ministry by supporting one of our orphans. We are living in a

rural area in very simple conditions, however our children are very skilled and together we create a big and happy family. We would like to ask you to help us by sponsoring a child. We call it adoption of heart.

NOW THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAVE IN HIM,
THAT IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE
HEARS US. AND IF WE KNOW THAT HE HEARS US,
WHATEVER WE ASK, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE
PETITIONS THAT WE HAVE ASKED OF HIM.
( 1 JOHN 5:14-15 *NKJV )
We often find ourselves to busy to stop and say a prayer
when we have a rough day. In this life everything seems like
it has to be accomplished A.S.A.P. So we often forget to
speak to God in prayer about it before we react.
Therefore one must remember that; THE PRAYER OF A
RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE!.
( JAMES 5:16 *NIV ) More powerful and more effective than
anything else on this Earth, even when we must react
As Soon As Possible.
Now friend, have you ever wondered about the
abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it in terms
of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we
think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will
begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days
along the way...
So when.......
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
