Very good response!

Thank you

...We cannot know the date of the Rapture. The reason why is obvious enough, but it doesn’t stop guys like Harold Camping from trying to outsmart God.

Amen Kristina..

God will not say things that will go above and beyond what is already revealed in scripture.  He has already told us what to watch for.

The things we hear regarding prophecy must be fully in agreement with scripture or they are false.

This is another demonstration of the importance of us knowing what God has already given us.

As one of my bible teachers used to say--  Read your bible!

Blessings, Carla

I think this person is a false prophet. No dates are given in thee end of the world. God will give us His word on the signs of what's to come, but not an exact date. No one on Earth could ever predict the date God will do His work among us. Mr. Camping is leading other believers to believe what he believes and that's pretty sad. Many people follow him and heed what he says. Only if others were strong in their relationship with God and are able to have discernment, they wouldn't be in a predicament of heeding a deceiving voice. It's better to heed the voice of God than a "false prophet".

THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM - Luke 17:20-24

Now when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; "nor will they say, See here!" or "See there!" For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Then He said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, "Look here!" or "Look there!" Do not go after them or follow them. "For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.

Everybody still here? It is going to happen someday but no one knows that day or hour. I was in Branson, Mo on Friday night and the clouds sure looked promising that night but today all the clouds are gone.
THis sign is just what is needed, this has brightened'''my heart''awesome'''is our GOD""""thanks for showing us all''''

Yes.....however, we must not be as in the parable where the servant say's "My Lord delays His coming".  The point of not knowing the hour....Jesus said He will come as a thief in the night.  Everybody seems to be offended about Harold's prophecy......but I think some are missing the point.  Are you ready right now?  Or, do you still put off till later.....obeying the Lord's commandments?

I think many Christians are in denial.  Many christians would rather just sweep under the rug, the fact that they/we are still waiting till later to obey the Lord.

If Jesus came right now....do you feel in your heart that He would say, "well done my good and faithfull servant"?    Just for the record...I am myself not fully convinced that 'I' would be happy with the number of souls which will go to heaven because my own testimony.  When I answer to the Lord...I want to joyously show that I have brought an increase for what He has given to me...instead of burying what was trusted to me in the dirt.....  The gift of Jesus is not for 'just me'.....and to think......"well I have mine, I am good to go".

You are broaching on *works*, Forgiven.

It isn't about what you do for God, but what God has done for you.

Blessings,

Rita

Yes Rita...I know this does sound like 'works'....but I feel 'we/I/some' are 'called' to works...works of God.  God does call some to 'do' things.  I struggle often with discernment of which is 'me' and which is of the 'Spirit'.  I want to make sure that I am 'able to listen' to God, to a 'still small voice', and even to the very obvious anointing.  There is also another 'little voice' that would constantly say..."No you can't, you're not supposed to.  Who do you think you are?  I don't like you. etc......."  But...I can.  And with the blessing of God, I will.

Forgiven, I think we all struggle with that discernment.  God help us.

I am starting to ask questions like

"Will this honor God"

 "Is this about me"

"Is what I am doing representing Christ well"

"Am I telling others about Jesus"

"What are my motives"

We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

There may have been something good come out of this false prophecy..  perhaps it will cause people to give it some thought..  God will make use of it.

I am thinking of the ones who have gotten rid of their life savings to follow Harold Camping.  I pray that they will be comforted and lead in the truth in love.  I pray for protection against depression also for them, and that the church will come along side them to encourage them and strengthen them in the truth as they are set securely on solid ground.  As we learn of people who may have followed this teaching, it will be an act of obedience for us to speak the truth in love.

Unfortunately, this sounds like it could set the stage for a massive falling away from the faith...but it could also lead people to Christ as they begin to ponder Spiritual things which they have never given much thought to before.

...  I'm done rambling for now. :-)

Blessings. Carla

Forgiven,

Your comment:  "The gift of Jesus is not for 'just me'.....and to think......"well I have mine, I am good to go".

This is true.  it's not just for us.

There isn't anyone here in this forum who seems ready to go..  The majority of people seem to be saying this prophecy is false since it doesn't align with scripture...  There is still much work to be done.

I appreciate your point..  however, remember this is the LORD's work, not ours.

We must continue to abide in Him so that we will bear much fruit.  We can do nothing without Him.

We can talk about Jesus to someone till you are blue in the face, but if the Holy Spirit is not there working already, we will not accomplish anything.  Ask God where He is working---go there.
