I guess I haven't noticed any difference. I know in this forum, your speaking to known believers.

In person, out in the world, you may not be so sure.

Thats the best I can do for ya.

Take care and God bless

Gary

Well for me is just as easy either way :) it is actually much easier in person, praise God , but great question.

hi Laura

for some it is easier to talk on line because i can't see you, i cant' see your body language, the danger is of course i might say something, and you might misunderstand, example 2 people talk for a length of time, he /she signs off, i love you, the other person could think, he /she, has feelings for me, 2, he/she is in love with me, 3, he/she loves me as a brother/sister, or there could be other thoughts, on the net without seeing the person sometimes it is easy, as in comparison to face to face, because in person if i say i love you, meaning as a brother or sister, then i must be willing to take care of any need you have, if at all possible, but even if i can't, i must  at least be willing to pray with you, God says we are to love others, as we love ourselves, we all know we love ourself ,wanting what is best for us, God says now do it for others, face to face people can see if we love them, i also find a lot of people are willing to talk about God, but when it comes to Jesus it is a different story, as we now have to deal with our sin problem (lying, stealing, lust,) etc. if we are unwilling to talk to others about our faith in Jesus, we have ether let fear control us or we don't know Jesus, or our sin is stopping us, if you know Jesus, as your Lord and Savour, then, just do it, that is share with others, he does the work through us, thus give him the glory, hope this helps

Hi Laura,

Ask the Lord where He is working day to day in your life.  He will put people in your path who will want to learn about Himself and ultimately know Him.  I have found that people are starting to open up the topic about God first..then i just follow their lead.  Sometimes I send out 'feelers' to see where they are at.  I might say something about my church, or bible study.  People are always talking about what they do in their daily lives, so I simply talk about what I do in mine.  By doing this I learn if they are open to talking about Jesus or not.  I have had some really fantastic conversations with people with this approach, and I have been able to clear up some misconceptions that people may have.  I have also been able to invite people to my church...we ultimately want to bring them into the church under the protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Allow the Lord to lead you..life will never be boring.  :D

Blessings, Carla

thanks carla

theres a lady in my village who I think goes to my local church, I've seen her in pics on the church website with her children, we've talked in passing, on the bus etc, everyday things.... She was in the local shop earlier, and I wanted to ask, about the church, could I come along with her, but I didn't ask. As I left the shop I had an urge to share my love of Jesus with another, I wished I had asked about the church, maybe also she loves our Lord,  I pray the Holy Spirit to guide me and help me find fellowship. In my village there is a small methodist church and a huge cathedral like church.

There are many real answers to your question. Some have to do with a person's personality and others have to do with being ashamed of Christ or not knowing how to speak to others about our faith.

We know some people in the world think of Christians as nut cases because of various reasons, some are real concerns and others are just silly speculations and plain hate for the things of God, but the truth is that some Christians are deterred from sharing due to these reasons.

There is no easy answer for your question since the gamma of possible reasons why it’s easier to speak to each other than to a dying world is such a great one. However here are just a few common reasons :

1. Fear of coming off as a Jesus Freak.

2. Ashamed of the Gospel

3. Fear of being rejected

4. Fear of making a fool of ourselves

5. Not knowing how to approach someone

6. the persons is very shy or very private

7. Fear of the biblical questions that may arise through our the conversation, should we start one and not feeling doctrinally prepared for them.

Etc...

This is a healthy and sheltered community, where we have a lot in common with other members, so one feels safe to open up here.

Blessings

i'm in agreement with david on his post...

Since this site is ALL ABOUT GOD i believe it is easier to talk to someone who knows God ( what i'm talking about ) rather those who don't. But it should not hinder us from doing our responsibility to share the Gospel whatever, as christine said.

Its easier to share in personal because you can see the body language of the person your talking to, so we make necessary adjustment on the approaches and to make the conversation interesting. The basic old fashion technique is always the best with respect to the new and great technology advancement...
