The one thing you are wrestling with ... a deeper reationship with God that includes surrednering to Him instead of fighting against Him.
There are some other helpful tips, but this one thing is primary above all else. Here are some other tips to help you with the above and to grow:
* God's Word: One must be reading (feeding) it regularly. I find that many people talk more about God's Word than they ever take the time to read God's Word.
* Prayer: Communicating with God, speaking and listening.
* Fellowship: Connected to a group of like-minded born-again Christians. God refers to us a sheep for a reason. Christians need each other.
* Accountability: Having someone in your life to ask you the tough questions. A person who will not just say "yes" but will hold you accountable to God's Word and way.
BTW, I did not get around to responding yesterday, but you owe me no apologies. No need to worry there.

I don’t know of anything greater to give than these …
The Word of God:
RO 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
RO 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
2TI 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Prayer, true communion with God:
MT 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
HEB 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Involvement with God’s people:
AC 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
HEB 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Holding each other accountable:
COL 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
1TH 5:11-12 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.
JAS 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
You may have to do these in steps, but these are the steps you must take to find what you seek in the end. These all deal with growing and drawing nearer to God.

Three things jump out at me regarding your last comments:
1) You have to be sold out that God's Word is true and that He is absolutely faithful.
2) You have to be sold out that He is at work in and around you, even when life doesn't make sense.
3) You must accept that maturing is a process that takes time.
Maturing involves the things I listed and life as you go through it one day at a time.

I know you asked LT, but i like your questions :) so i am taking the liberty to give you my thoughts.
The Holy Spirit is not similar to the Devil in any way. The Holy Spirit makes the devil run, but our failures may have us in a place where we do not have God’s anointing, but the Holy Spirit remains. There have been times when I have preached and I know that God worked through me and there have been times when the word of God went forth only by my intellect. God has let me know those times that the word is powerful and will still blessed the faithful listeners, but it was not the same as Him backing me up, or rather working through me.
The Old Testament covenant is radically different than the new covenant where in the Old the Holy Spirit did not reside as a seal of guarantee for the believer. It would come and go.
Notice David’s prayer: 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Restore the joy, NOT MY SALVATION, but the joy of it. We have a lot to lose in times of rebelliousness, (not saying you are in rebellion beloved, just saying in general), but not our salvation. God would send the Holy Spirit upon His servants to accomplish a task. David was saying do not take your anointing/Holy Spirit from me or the purpose that He came to accomplish. We have a better covenant, but we can still grief the Holy Spirit in our lives.

I agree with David, while using maybe slightly different terminology, we are saying in essence the same thing. The difference is seen in the fact that the Holy Spirit only came upon (worked in or through) a few people in the Old Testament, but this move of God was not a tranformational work, but simply empowering one to accomplish God's task. Every born-again believer is changed (transformation) and sealed by the Holy Spirit. He comes to "live" in us, not just work through us.
The concept of whether a person can lose the Holy Spirit goes back to whether one believes a person can or cannot lose their salvation. Attempting to be fair here to those who believe differently than me, if you believe the Bible teaches eternal security then the sealing is permanent. If you believe you can be lost after coming to the Lord in repentance then one believes that they can lose the Holy Spirit as well, for He is the deposit guaranteeing our salvation.
I believe it is a one time done deal and thus you cannot lose His presence, only grieve Him.

This conversation, mainly between LT and Amanda, has encouraged me. It seems many people are going through the same things as me. I thought about just forsaking this whole thing and living a sloppy Christian life like everyone else around me, it seems to work for them. It seems I have given up everything to no avail and I'm just tired of it all (If I cant make it through this, what about in the future stuff?). I feel disconnected to 'my church' and don't really know how to reach out to others. I can't seem to praise God genuinely and I've been disrespectful to my parents. I wonder when this stuff will kick in and then realize it's a life long process. I feel like ppl are moving ahead and I'm nowhere and don't really know where to go in life. I know eventually thigs will get better so stop complaining and read the Bible or something. My feelings get in the way alot, how do I oversome them in a way where I can be genuine? Is that possible? Or is this saying true "Just fake it until you make it"?

It seems many people are going through the same things as me.
Yes. We are not alone in our travails. Our problems are not unique, just personal. It helps to realize that others are going through similar situation, but better yet, it is helpful to realize that people have gone through similar problems and overcame them. Peace in the storm is attainable.

Don’t worry about the future stuff. Today has enough worries of its own. I encourage you to listen to the sermon I preached today. It will be posted shortly in the blogs. It speaks directly to this.

Examine whether you are in the right church. Praise God, anyway. Watch what God will do through your attempts praise Him. He will work in you. Apologize to your parents and seek to honor them from this day forward. You cannot undo the past, but you can affect the present.

I would encourage you to take your eyes off of others and fix them squarely on Jesus.
