Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

John 6:28-29
Amen!
Amen.
Forgiven,

Yes, this is what he said. Then He proceeded to say some of the most beautiful words ever spoken to mankind in human history. He said:

Jn 6:30-59

30 So they asked him, "What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

32 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

34 "Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread."

35 Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

41 At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." 42 They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

43 "Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. 44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"

53 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." NIV
Roy, after reading ur posting n others...i come to a conclusion that u r right in this particular response...

He will not let us fail. He has paid too high of a price to allow any of us to be lost. He is going to take care of His children. Sometimes, people believe they are going to lose their relationship with Him because they have not been successful in their struggle with sin. At that point it is our job to jump in there and get them to refocus on Jesus and less upon themselves. Jesus is going to take care of their sinful habits

By His Grace..we'll learn to live a righteous life ( exibiting Love ) thru the Holy Spirit.....

So so cool ya-all. I enjoyed reading the exchanges and agree with Robert, Roy and Lt.

Not that it matters who I agree with or not, but I really enjoyed reading all the exchanges fellas. I just got through listening to a message called "Where are all the men at?" and then came over to read this thread and I am happy to see men of God here.

I fully understand everyone's individual impute and agree with it. I think different angles of our walk are being emphasized and viewed by each participant, which do not contradict each other at all, but instead enhance each other.

Roy is emphasizing our total dependence on Christ for everything - which is true.

Lt is emphasizing both the total dependence of the believer on Christ and the real responsibility we have to abide in Christ to live righteous lives.

Robert is saying I know I have to take off the old man and put on the new one. Its true God has left it up to us to abide in Him for the prospering of our soul. He is correct. God will certainly keep us, but the quality of our Christian lives can be pitiful or blessed, according to our level of surrender.

God will keep us (Sovereignty), but we are held responsible by our sovereign God for the choices we make (our God given liberty).

So as long as I am in this tent, I will press forward towards the Goal. Forgetting what is behind me and pushing forward to his calling in my life. I understand that the pushing forward is successfully done as an automatic outcome of my abiding in Christ.

Is like water and wet - if you have liquid water you have wet automatically.

If we abide in Christ (in the word) automatically we have fruit. Our abiding in the word must be a joyful experience we look forward to from which a life of prayer and worship is born. Study the word with joy, getting into it as an explorer would look at a new frontier he will be use to map.

Anyways - Blessings to all - you three Rock.

And i am open to correction by anyone, but remember hahahaha i correct back if you are tripping hahaha Everything i write in a public forum feel free to correct me as any of you see the need. I welcome it and embrace it.
And so, all is well in Aagland where the sun is always shining, the birds are always singing and everyone is always right. The kilter is restored. What a beautiful place.

And blessings to you as well, Brother David

hi dave, we arent all fellas lol
Mischelle,

>>When someone struggles with the sins of the flesh, does it mean that on the day of judgment, Jesus will say to them, "Depart from me, for I never knew you?

The simple fact that you are struggling with them is proof that you belong to God. However put on the full armor of God so you can withstand the wiles of the Devil. Learn what the weapons of our warfare are and apply them to your life. We must hate the sin that so easily beats us.

Abide in the word and you will know the truth that will set you free. :)

Love you - press on beloved.
i agree with david. we all have struggles with something and mines the same as yours mischelle. we have to get up and dust ourselves down again, and keep trying, we are human we are sinners and God doesnt expect anything else, its the trying that counts, and with the struggling, offer it up for whatever intentions you wish
God bless
Woldeyesus,

Just exactly what are you saying?

Roy
Amen!
