..even letting Christ work in you ..needs effort right ..iv thought that without hard work there is nothing !! ..GOD yeah he can do it in us "I am letting Christ in me do it." love this ..true without him ..nothing happens
like an exam ...unless you study GOD wont help you pass .!! we gotta do our part..rite .. we canT just let him do everything

now, it isnt easy to tame the tongue,, well when we get into temptation ." GOD says he provides a way out ,...does'nt it take effort to find that way .or rather to choose to resist temptation
taming the tongue is not going to happen all at once ..we need to pray constantly. and practice it.
proverbs 31:17
"she sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks"
she is beautiful smart and talented
"imagine the change in our lives if we loved ourselves as we are, so take a look at yourself-- be happy with who you are and what you have to offer to the world"
she opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy 31;20
learning to be content and generous ...............
every vs is deep ..GOD's woman in proverbs 31 has all good ...
we got to ..be that woman! ..its not easy.
is it rite to say, im not trying anymore let GOD do it all ...
it wont happen just like that ..it needs effort! in GOD ..
at every vs .

we aint going to struggle sister, thats why its easy, cause GOD will help us but only if we try .
we cant become woman of GOD without effort.
we cant even be christians with out taking the effort of believing in his word
for eg :i can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me.
I CAN DO ...... he strengthens us ..and we do it ...
it takes alot of effort to even believe in that promise!
dont you think it atleast requires a tiney winey bit of EFFORT !!
my mum always says ...do your best and GOD will do the rest!

You are both correct sisters.
I will stick my nose in here. Because that is what i do hahaahaha J/K
Linda is correct and so are you Candy. But the Lesson Linda is trying to get across is an essential lesson we all must learn beloved.
Our effort is in dying to self, to completely surrender so Christ can be manifested through us. Him fighting through us, as we abide in Him.
You are both saying the same thing in different ways. This is an important issue. We are soldiers, warriors in a race and we must train up, but not so we can do things under our own effort, but surrendering to Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us. God fights for us and through us.
I am pretty sure this is how you mean it Candy, the effort you mentioned. Linda I believe is making sure you understand that our effort is not according to human gusto, but to our resting in Christ as we do our part, to abide in HIm.

Dear Candy and Linda Ruth and David,
Great discussion.. so..to add another element to this discussion... Is the proverbs 31 gal just one gal? Or is she the composite portrayal of ideal womanhood? Or, is she the female representation of Jesus? Is this actually attainable? She is perfect. I read about her and I feel like crumpling down in a corner by fear of being compared to her. However, I can also see God working some of these traits out in me....slowly as I am ready, He introduces a new lesson for me to learn.... However I don't think I'll be planting a vineyard..but I do have a garden (veggie and flowers). :)
Pro 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.
Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.
Pro 31:12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.
Pro 31:13 She looks for wool and flax And works with her [fn] hands [fn] in delight.
Pro 31:14 She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.
Pro 31:15 She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And [fn] portions to her maidens.
Pro 31:16 She considers a field and buys it; From [fn] her earnings she plants a vineyard.
Pro 31:17 She girds [fn] herself with strength And makes her arms strong.
Pro 31:18 She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.

I think it all comes down to verse 30. I don't believe that we are to take this literally (I don't really think anyone here is).. but rather her reverence for God and who HE is and her strength of character. She is an inspiration, but I don't believe it is one person. Interestingly her appearance is never mention but only to say that 'charm is deceitful and beauty is vain'

Luke 10
38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’[k] feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41 And Jesus[l] answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
The Proverbs 31 woman will make the same choice Mary chose.

Excellent example David... (maybe I'll learn to knit---where-ever would I find the time.....hmm... maybe after I plant the vineyard, sew some linen belts, and finish my quilting of bedspreads....gee maybe this means I get to hire a maid ( I wonder what the job of the servant girls is)..I wonder if hubby will approve of me hiring a maid -- I'll tell him God said I need a maid ... :) j/g I'm thinking not!...;)
No wonder God doesn't want us to teach in the tabernacle... We're busy enough! :)
