I had always thought they were the 144,000 that witness during the tribulation period
Hi Sara and John,
Thank you both.
Ja well no fine, but it still leaves me with a problem.
The 12,000 from each tribe of Israel makes up 144,000. But is that all that is going to be saved out of the Tribulation period?
Hi My Dear Brother Ron,

Hmm good question I will look into this and pray about it :) <3 see you around :) <3
Hi Brother Ron,

If you are chosen you will go through much tribulation and you will know of such saints by their actions in faith righteousness and truth, and HOLINESS all while acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior and GOD AS THE ONE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. Try not to limit what I have told you to just the words I have said GOD MAY VERY MUCH REVEAL MORE TO YOU.

As for this part

"The 12,000 from each tribe of Israel makes up 144,000. But is that all that is going to be saved out of the Tribulation period?"

Look up the numbers and ask God to grant you a deeper understanding of what it all means.

If you still have trouble understanding I will come back and break it down :) <3

GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS :) <3

Hi Stacey,

I am not sure what is meant by:

"Look up the numbers and ask God to grant you a deeper understanding of what it all means.
.

"If you still have trouble understanding I will come back and break it down :) <3"
I would appreciate your insight Stacey.

Time for me to go and snooze 10:30pm here in S.Africa. Will look for you tomorrow.
Thank you.
Ron, I was just reading this and I thought maybe it will help

. The 144,000 Jewish Witnesses
Sometime during the first part of the Tribulation or possibly right at the beginning of it, God is going to choose and mark 144,000 Jewish people out of the 12 main tribes of Israel. These 144,000 Jews will receive some kind of mark on their forehead from God. As a result of this mark and seal, the judgments that will fall upon the earth during the 7 year Tribulation will not touch or harm them.

God also calls these 144,000 the “firstfruits to God and the Lamb.” The Lamb is Jesus. God is making a statement that these 144,000 will be the first set of Jews to get saved and accept Jesus as their true Messiah.

Though Scripture does not specifically state that these 144,000 Jews will actually be witnessing to others, the conclusion among many students of Bible Prophecy is that they definitely will be witnessing and preaching the gospel to others – just due to the fact that they have now been saved and will physically be protected from all the judgments that will be hitting the earth during this time.

It is only logical to conclude that God will use these 144,000 Jewish witnesses to preach the gospel as they will now have the full power of the Holy Spirit operating in them to be able to preach. I seriously doubt if God will just have them lying and sitting around and doing nothing – especially with the Church having been possibly raptured before they are sealed and come forth.

God is going to need as many people as possible to be preaching, witnessing and getting people saved, especially if the main body of believers are no longer on the earth to preach and witness to others.

1. Here are the two main verses from Scripture that will tell you about these 144,000 Jewish witnesses.

“After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.

And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed.” (Revelation 7:1-4)

The rest of this verse then goes on to state the 12 main tribes of Israel and the 12,000 that will be taken out of each of them to total up to the 144,000.

2. This next verse tells us that they will be the first fruits of the Jewish people to accept Jesus as their true Messiah.

“Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand having His Father’s name written on their foreheads … These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile, for they are without fault before the throne of God.” (Revelation 14:1-4)

Now what comes next is a real interesting twist. God is going to allow, for the first time ever, an angel to preach the gospel to whoever is left on the earth during the Tribulation
Greetings in the name of the Lord and in LOVE WITH JESUS CHRIST MY LORD SAVIOR ,

OK John, Great stuff, also thanks again to Stacey and Sarah.
But John, there are also those (Tim Lehaye) that say there will be some who missed out on the rapture and will become Christians during the tribulation. What's your take on that?
I do agree that there will be many who will miss the Rapture and will become Christians during the Tribulation. Unfortunatly they will have to go through that terrible period and many will be martyred. Here is some scripture that talks about that
When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

And a white robe was give to each of them; And it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.” (Revelation 6:9-11)

Unfortunatly there will also be many who are decieved by the Antichrist and False Prophet and they will choose to worship him. They will set up a system where you must take the Mark of the Beast if you want to buy or sell anything. Here is some scripture that talks about that

And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.” (Revelation 13:15-18)

Those who choose to take the Mark of the Beast and worship the Antichrist are damned for eternity and will spend eternity in the Lake of fire. Here is scripture that talks about that

Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation.

And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” (Revelation 14:9-11)

I hope this helps explain my take

John
Fine John, I see you have been doing your homework. I think that your opening paragraphs still refers to the Jew.

We are told that the Just shall live by faith. Heb 10:38. Rom 1:7 Gal 3:11.

Any one who has witnessed the Rapture, where all their friends have been taken up and away, would surely have no option but to believe........ Sadly that is by sight "Seeing is believing" No faith would be involved...... Hence I sincerely believe that once the Rapture has happened, the offer of salvation to the Gentile world comes to an end and the Jew once again comes into favour.
But there will be a price to pay and many will die a Martyr's death.
They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son." Zec 12:10 - Jhn 19:37
I am really enjoying this discussion. It is making me read my bible, commentaries and websites that refer to this. I do have to respectfully disagree that once the Rapture has happened the offer of salvation to the gentile world comes to an end. My reasoning is simply my opinion and I have no scripture to back it up. My reason is this. If the offer of salvation comes to an end, I don't think there would then be any need for the tribulation, the 21 judgements (seal, trumpet, and bowl), the antichrist, false prophet, and armegeddon. Based on what I have read, the judgements are Gods way of getting those who are left behind's attention and come to him. If His offer of salvation comes to an end, then it would seem to me that we could go directly to the Great White Throne Judgement where those whos names are found in the Lambs book of life would have everlasting life with our Lord and Saviour and those whos names are not in the Lambs book of life would be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. Again this is just my opinion and I have nothing to back it up. I am relativly new to my faith and am learning everyday
Hi John,
I hope you received my email acknowledgement of our friendship. As I was closing it, a tremendous lightining storm hit us (Usual here in Africa) My computer froze and I am not sure if I had got the mail out soon enough. Had to disconnect everything while the storm raged. If you did not receive it please let me know, I will gladly repeat it.

Now back to our discussion. Firstly I am glad that you are enjoying it. Secondly if as you say you are relatively new to the faith, then two comments from all of us must surely be:
1. The Lord is definitely blessing you as your Scripture knowledge shows maturity.
2. Welcome from everyone here on AAG and keep looking up. The Lord will continue to Bless you as you study His Word.

Back to our discussion.
Well to my mind, God has still to deal with the Jew and Satan, before the end of this age
can come to a conclusion.God made many promises to His O.T. Saints, Abraham, Moses David etc. As we know, God is not slack concerning His promises.

"And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Gen 26:4.

Well the nations have all had an opportunity to receive God's wonderful blessing, so much so that His Son had to pay the price for us to receive it.
God will never be any man's debtor, so the Jew in a sense was used, to bring that Salvation through Christ to the world. (in thy Seed (Singular) shall all nations be blessed)

Once again as this age closes, God is more than willing to keep His promises to Abraham the father of the Jews and to settle the war that Satan started in heaven.

Zec 12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. WE saw this in the 6 day war and will see it again.Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me (Poor JW's Who say that Jesus is not God) whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Firstly Zec 12:9. Every nation has literally come against the Jew, where are those nations today? Most of them are history. But the Jew "Israel" remains.

Secondly Zec 12:10 is about to take place. Even today Messianic Jews are being born again. "Jews for Jesus" and similar operations amongst Jews are marvelling at the fact that
Jews are being "Born Again" in great numbers.

But the time will come when Jesus will stand on Mt Olivet and the Jewish nation will see and recognize Him. They will experience extreme sorrow and repentance and then as they experience their "New Birth" WHAT JOY! Praise God!

Finally Satan and his hordes of fallen angels (demons) will be dealt with.
Satan the deciever now "dressed" as the Antichrist will attempt to destroy the Jew at Armageddon. Throughout history he has always attempted to accomplish this. "If I can destroy the Jew, then I have destroyed God's promises to them. If I have accomplished this then God will surely not be able to keep His promises to destroy me." Hence the destruction of Jerusalem (Titus AD 70) The Holocaust and soon Armegeddon.
But the Jew has always survived. Even now Israel faces possible annihalation by a Nuclear bomb. This is why we are so close, to the final stage of Satan's destruction and Israels final redemption.

I trust you will be able to see now why it is imperative that nothing can be brought to closure until God's promises to Israel have been fulfilled.

To the family here at AAG, here is God's personal message: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luk 21:28
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa 1:18
May all of us take this personal message straight from the heart of God so that we will come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1Cor 1:7 and be able to shout with John: "Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev 20
