This is from Allaboutgod.com-praise and worship it is and supreme explanation of what praise and worship is all about.

Praise and Worship - A Natural Desire
Praise and worship seems to be universal. Have you ever heard of an explorer finding a new tribe or culture that doesn't worship? Worship is a natural instinct and a basic need for every person. A simple definition of worship is to regard with great devotion or to honor as a divine being. Take a second to think about what you are most devoted to in this life and ask yourself, "Is it worthy of my devotion; do I worship a divine being?"

We don't all worship the same God, but everyone worships something or someone. Since we all worship, we should question the reason for this desire. The most logical conclusion is that we were created by a higher being for the very purpose of worship.

The ongoing quest of man is to find answers to the fundamental questions of human origin, human nature, and human destiny. There is one book that has the answers to all these questions, including our questions about worship. The Bible is the wonderful and mysterious book that God has chosen as a way to communicate with us.

God is the focus of our devotion in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Exodus 20:2-3, God says, "I am the LORD your God .....You shall have no other gods before me." In Matthew 4:10, Jesus says, "Worship the Lord your God and serve him only." So, worship is not merely a natural instinct, it's a command from God.

Praise and Worship - Why Should We do it?
God alone is worthy of our devotion, praise and worship. He is God, our Creator, and we are commanded to praise and worship Him. Psalm 96:9 says, "Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth." Psalm 29:2 says, "Give unto the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."

A.W. Tozer said, "Without worship, we go about miserable."

God doesn't want us to be miserable -- He has a perfect plan for our lives. He has done so many things to show us that He loves us and doesn't want us to be miserable. He wants us to have hope for a future with Him --he wants us to have eternal life in heaven with Him.

A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and amazingly, it also brings great joy to God. Zephaniah 3:17 states, "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Praise and Worship - How Do We do it?
God tells us how to praise and worship him in His Word. John 4:23 says, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." In order to worship God in truth, we need to know that Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." So, before you can worship in the way that God desires, you have to develop a relationship with Him through faith in Jesus, His Son.

The best way that we can praise and worship God is with our every thought and action. Romans 12:1-2 states, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Praise and Worship - Love from the Heart
Many people think that praise and worship is only singing songs at church, but it is so much more! It is also a condition of your heart -- a willingness to exalt God and yield to his will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve. Whether you express your worship by singing, playing music, dancing or in some other way, remember that you are called to worship God with your every action, every day of your life. God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship and devotion.

"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deut. 6:5)

What about you? What precious perfume is locked inside your heart that could be lavished on our Lord? The little treasures you and I struggle to hold on to may hold back opportunities to worship Him with extravagant praise, releasing ministry and service to Him that will bless all those around us.

Angela Munizzi

Most of the verses written about praise in God's Word were voiced by people faced with crushing heartaches, injustice, treachery, slander, and scores of other difficult situations.

Joni Eareckson Tada

Worship is the intentional attitudes and actions of focusing on God. It is the life-discipline we ought repeatedly to exercise and develop. It grows out of the foundational motive of deep and wonder-based gratitude to God for His salvaging and sustaining us.

IN HIS PREASENCE THERE IS FULLNESS OF JOY
BY R BUSHMAN

“You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” ( Psalm 16:11 )

“For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.”
( Psalm 21:6 )

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.” ( Psalm 46:4 )

I love being in the presence of the Lord giving praise and worship to Him. All of my problems seem so small and I experience joy. Being in His presence is the single most important part of our lives as Christians. Yes He is present with us always with us in the person of the Holy Spirit that abides within us, but I am talking about purposely through prayer, praise, and worship setting aside everything else and seeking His face. I find that I hunger and thirst more and more to just be in this place of worship and communion.
When we talk about experiencing the presence of the Lord, we are talking about the realization of God’s presence – of perceiving His presence and being conscious of Him.

Practicing the presence through praise and worship is the most valuable things we can do. God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience His presence in ever increasing measures.

Prayer;

Father God we can't put into words what it means to us to come into the Holy place and commune with you. We find all that we will ever need in this holy place where you are exalted and lifted up,

Our trials and tribulations seem like nothing, our burdens seem to just melt away in your glorious presence Holy God. It almost seems foolish to doubt you and think that your not going to take care of us. We are reminded when we are with you that you gave your Son to save us, and to open up a door for us to draw near to You. We find our faith to sour when we are with you. You did not with hold your Son to save us, then we can rest assured that you will give us all we need.

So Father God we exalt you and glorify your name, Holy Spirit thank you for pouring the love of God into our hearts, Jesus we owe our lives to you for saving us from our sins.

Holy God, filled with spindler and majesty we exalt you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Be glorified and magnified in our live, and as we learn to come into your holy court we will find you and our heart will overflow with joy unspeakable and full of glory. So we worship you.
In Jesus name amen
Nancy I remember way back in 1980 when I was at a special service with a couple who were ground breaker in leading others in praise and worship. That night we sang We exalt Thee and as I was singing to the Lord I was brought into the presence of God and I have been hooked on praise and worship from that day forward.

Thanks for this message, Bob. Worship is in giving our whole selves to the Lord, in complete surrender. When we lift our hands in praise, we are surrendering to Him in worship. Like you said, it is offering our bodies as a living sacrifice unto God. And I believe as you do, that our lives should continually honor Him in Word and action and in holiness. Without holiness it is impossible to see God. When we worship God we must do it in holiness, our lives and entire beings should be holy. Like the scripture that is there, about worshipping Him in the "beauty of Holiness". Thankyou.

Waiting or tarrying before the Lord is a lost art these days in a culture with a drive through mentality. But giving the Lord the opportunity to speak to us is in itself a praise for we are honoring Him enough that we are willing to sacrifice time, and in doing so we are showing that we value our Lord and King.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. ( Jude 1:21 )

Wait for the LORD Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. (Psalm 27:14)

Isaiah 25:9 says; And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation."

HE PAID IT ALL FOR US!! PRAISE YOU JESUS!! THANKSGIVING TO OUR KING FOR HE IS WORTHY!! AMEN!!
