One  reason I know why Christians get sick is because of unconfessed sin. 1 Corinthians 11;28-32 is a good example according to scripture. :)

I used to ask myself this question all the time along. But then I had to realize if there is no sickness or suffering how would one know love and joy. How would know that God is out there. A person really would not know. If life was always beautiful there would be no need for God or His help. Some sickness and suffering is a test which brings us to the testimony. To be able to spread the word about how great God is.

Why Christians get Sick

"And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." (Genesis 1:31)

90% of all Christian sickness and physical suffering being experienced today is due to the violation of God's natural laws.

God meant life to be very simple, basic, and beautiful as man walked in closeness to God's creation.

Man has corrupted God's ways.

To sustain life, four basic ingredients are necessary

  1. AIR (oxygen)
  2. WATER
  3. FOOD and
  4. MOTION OR EXERCISE.

"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread..." (Genesis 3:19)

Without daily, vigorous exercise, the body does not receive a sufficient supply of oxygen, arteries clog, mental faculties are slowed, people become forgetful and eventually senile, and death finally results.

"And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing better, but rather grew worse." (Mark 5:25-26)

People cannot be drugged (poisoned) into health.

Drugs create problems, rather than solve them.

Health comes only when the body is provided with the proper materials to cleanse the poisons from the system and rebuild new, living, strong, vital, vibrant cells.

God made a body that is self-healing and will heal itself when given the opportunity.

  • Tobacco, a narcotic drug, contains some 16 different poisons
  • Coffee contain the drug, caffeine
  • Tea, cola, soft drinks and chocolate all contain the drug caffeine
  • Sugar, in the form of "sucrose"
  • Salt is a deadly poisonous drug and possibly the greatest killer of mankind.

Fortunately, even after the body starts to break down, the body will usually respond and rebuild the damaged cells when we cooperate with it, stop abusing, start cleansing, and then properly feed our body..."God's temple!"

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalms 139:14)

God made man from the elements found in the dust and in the air!

God's creation was perfect and His natural laws were designed to perpetuate that perfection.

Each person is personally accountable for his or her own health.

Man cannot blame someone or something else for his own physical breakdowns

As to length of life, following the flood, God said, "His days shall be an hundred and twenty years." (Genesis 6:3)

  • The body uses water to cleanse and remove toxins, to lubricate, to cool the body when overheated, etc.
  • In fact, the body is comprised of from 75% to 85% water. For the proper functioning of the body to maintain health, to cleanse, or to heal, the body must have pure water

Man has changed the way God intended man to live.

In 1977, the United States Senate issued "Dietary Goals for the United States."

  • Increase consumption of fruits and vegetables and whole grain.
  • Decrease consumption of meat and increase consumption of poultry and fish.
  • Decrease consumption of foods high in fat and partially substitute poly-unsaturated fat for saturated fat.
  • Substitute non-fat milk for whole milk.
  • Decrease consumption of butter-fat, eggs and other high cholesterol sources.
  • Decrease consumption of sugar and foods high in sugar content.
  • Decrease consumption of salt and foods high in salt content.

"Beware lest any man spoil you through...the traditions of men."(Colossians 2:8)

Christians are often lacking in Knowledge concerning the relationship between food, nutrition, lifestyle and health!

Conclusion

"The Lord has done great things for us; whereof we are glad." (Psalm 126:3)
