OUR POSITION AS CHRISTIANS
I have been studying in Hebrews and came up with a thought. I would like to get opinions on it.
When Christ died for us, for all sin....past present future...is seems as though Christians have been place in a realm of perfection, having things placed in the condition that Adam and Eve were in, controlling or having dominion over all things. (Before the fall.)
Of course, we still have to deal with the effects of sin, but we are still given the authority over sickness, health, wealth or a form of comfort for each of us.
Romans 1:3-4
3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
We, will become sons of God at our resurrection.
Christ died for all sin...past, present, future...and
God gave us power and authority over things of this earthly life....health, wealth,
Whatever we bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.
Therefore, we are to do what Christ did while He was on earth...follow in His footprints.
He is the First-fruit, and we should follow Him, doing all that He did while He was here.
Do these thoughts make any sense to you?

Job was written under the Old Covenant...the law.
We are under grace...a New covenant.
God isn't all about us...He's all about Him. However, He gave us many gifts, and directives. They are important as well. Satan was defeated at the cross of Christ. He has power over only his own, not Christians.
12 Now rwe have received not sthe spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this tin words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, uinterpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.3

I apologize that I used a wrong word. I should have said resist. I probably shouldn't have used Matt 18:18 either...however, I can't imagine Jesus giving authority to bind or loose Satan on a person for an evil the person commits, and not allowing that same power to be used for good.
That just doesn't compute in my wee brain.
When I started this topic, I was looking for discussion and comment for the good we could do for another person. Illness doesn't come from God, misfortune doesn't come from God. Both of these were and are gifts from Satan. God says He would have us prosper and be in good health. So when I speak health for a person or prosperity for a person, I will make sure that I do it in a manner that binds Satan's ability to harm his target.
Matt 17:18 And Jesus frebuked the demon,2 and it3 came out of him, and gthe boy was healed instantly.4 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 He said to them, h“Because of your little faith. For itruly, I say to you, jif you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, kyou will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and lnothing will be impossible for you.”

Christ died for all sin...past, present, future...
(Please forgive me if this point was already discussed. I don't have time right now to read through the whole thread.)
When did Jesus ever say this? And why is this being taught in so many 'Christian' Churches today when it seems so different from the actual words of Christ?

John 7:28
So Jesus proclaimed, as He taught in the temple, You know me, and you know where I come from? But I have not come of my own accord; He who sent me is true, and Him you do not know.
[29] I know Him, for I come from Him, and He sent me.
John.8
[42] Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but He sent me.John 10
17] For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again
[18] No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this charge I have received from my Father.Pilate said to Him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.
The statement to Pilate was a general statement of his purpose in coming into the world from heaven. He gave a more specific statement here:
John 6:[38] For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me;
He clarified this by continuing to define the Father's will immediately. He states,
[39] and this is the will of Him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given me, but raise it up at the last day.
[40] For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Notice He never states anything about dying for sins past, present, and future.
Why don't we just stick with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

It is great to see you around here again. The scriptures you quoted above are great scripture, but they neither support or deny whether the Lord died for past, present and future sins.
Here are some verses that tell us that Christ's death was afficatious, in other words, His death accomplished the purchase (redemtion) of His church. Hence paying for their sins, All their sins.
Jesus died for 'many.'
Matt. 26:28, "for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins."
Jesus died for the sheep (not the goats, per Matt. 25:32-33);
John 10:11,15 "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep...15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep."
Matt. 25:32-33, "And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left."
Jesus in prayer interceded for the ones given Him.
John 17:9, "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine;"
- The Church was purchased by Christ.
- Acts 20:28, "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."
- Eph. 5:25-27, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; 26 that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless."
Prophecy of Jesus' crucifixion where he would bore the sins of many.
Isaiah 53:12, "Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong; because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors."
Jesus fully paid for His church, He did not just made it available to be saved, but saved His sheep. However - whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
- The Church was purchased by Christ.

If we ask God to forgive our sins we are asking that He send Jesus back to die for them. If the sin issue was not settled at the cross once for all we are done for. If it is up to us to never sin after we get saved we will never make it to Heaven. If we did we have every right to brag about our achievement.
If in order to say forgiven we must ask for it over and over we exercise faith in our ability to remember each and every one. We would not be showing faith in God. We would live in terror not faith.
