All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Ok ,here is the scripture:
2 Corinthians 6:14-15
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accordhas Christ with belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever

If we have a friend or someone in our lives who is an unbeliever are we not to sit with them ? Is there not the same hope for them as there is for us and how are we to show the light of Jesus if we keeo them out of our lives without having them think we think we are better than them? Would that not deter them from wanting what we have in Christ?

The end result was they were used to God's Glory so were they not used of God rather than used of the enemy
ok be careful.  The tactics of the enemy can be used for God's glory. The enemy challenged God then attacked Job all but destroying him . The end result Job learned about the enemy  praised the Father that much more. Learned how to pray how to have a relationship with the Father. Job was grew tenfold as strong. All to the Fathers glory. All because he did not bow  to the enemy.

well, the devil tempts us. i'm not sure on 'the one used to tempt being of God'

also just so its clear that my scenario was just that, a scenario lol, no handsome charmers heading my way hehe.

ill be honest, i think as saved Christians, as long as we do not become yoked, joined together securely, with an unbeliever then all is ok in Gods eyes, i see it as that simple. And if we already are then God will work on that with us.

Oh no. I not yoked with anybody. That's just it. Always having to fight off the hungry wolves. HmmmM! Lately anyway!
You kNOW how the Lord talks to me and how I listen Dean. The important thing is being careful to keep my ears, eyes, mind and heart pointed UP as long as I do that ,there is no need to be careful for nothing else. :). I thank God for you and all of my church family. Thankyou for looking out for me ! :)
Besides,Dean, you know that the path God has given me most recently ,is a much safer one. Ha,what can those children do to me other than splat me with paint? On second thought, don't answer that question! HEEELPP!!! Lol
Yes. It is wjy I have all but given up on finding a life partner sis. And so I live for my First Love. It is He that I live for regardless ! :)

Thankyou for sharing Michelle and may our Lord continue to richly bless you as I know that He has.
It is funny whenever I try to find anything I mess up. When I give up on it  somehow there it is. The Lord always knows what is best I just have to get out of the way.
Haha!well on this particular thing ,I been getting out of the way for a long time. So I is just a walkin' along BEing ! Lol
are you sure? Do you know what the Lord has in mind for tomorrow.
well tomorrow I have to BE BEING at work for 12 hours but I know NOTHING is impossible for God! :D
The apostle Paul wrote the saints in Corinth, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Cor. 6:14, KJV).

Does the teaching of Paul have application to marriage? Specifically: may a believer marry an unbeliever?

The Greek word which the KJV renders "unequally yoked" is heterozugeo, which is a very rare word in biblical literature. It is found only here in all of the New Covenant writings, and is found only once in all of the Old Covenant writings (Lev. 19:19). It means to be "yoked unequally" with another. In the Law of Moses, many feel it had a clear reference to breeding or mating of animals that were unsuitable. "You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind" (Lev. 19:19, NKJV). The NIV renders this verse: "Do not mate different kinds of animals." "It is the prohibition of mating animals under a different yoke, i.e., of a different species, like the ass and the ox" (Gerhard Kittel, Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, vol. 2, p. 901). Some scholars, therefore, feel that Paul may well have had mating in mind between believers and unbelievers (i.e., marriage).
