All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Ok ,here is the scripture:
2 Corinthians 6:14-15
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accordhas Christ with belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever

If we have a friend or someone in our lives who is an unbeliever are we not to sit with them ? Is there not the same hope for them as there is for us and how are we to show the light of Jesus if we keeo them out of our lives without having them think we think we are better than them? Would that not deter them from wanting what we have in Christ?

Yes well we know that what is innappropiate in one persons mind is can be an imagination and god tells us to put away our imaginations. The lord could be working in a situation that those with imaginations don't realize. He could be using the imagined innapropiateness to build and add growth and more good fruit.
and I thank the Lord for his strenght and the opportunity for successful growth. AMEN

I think what it will almost always come down to is, when crisis comes to a person, the people around them watch how they handle that problem.  Then crisis comes onto to those who had watched, they will many times copy what they had seen successful.  And so many times it's not in how the problem was solved but, the Peace of mind that the other had while they went through it.  We are the examples the world look to, when we are lead by Holy Ghost we will be o.k..

yes
I believe "inappropiate relationships" are any one we find ourselves compromising the way we believe and the things we hold near and dear.  I don't think they are only what may be obvious, but any that we give into our flesh and not spirit
Chris, I don't like this particular word when speaking of God but do you think he will sometimes give us a situation when we are faced with what is seen by some as an inappropiate association as a "test" of our faith and maturity? Sometimes I feel He does but God is not given to doing such things is He?
Or is this just a case of God allowing it ?

I think scripture tells us we are tested at times. e.g

James 1:12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Job 7:18 For you examine us every morning

and test us every moment.

Jeremiah 17:10 I, the Lord, search the heart,

I test the mind,

Even to give to each man according to his ways,

According to the results of his deeds.

Interested to hear what others think on this.

Here is an interesting question I was just thinking about Lucy
If the above two questions are so , then is the person who is senn as an innapropiate association , being used of God? Or are they being used of the enemy?
I suppose it could go either way according to the outcome. According to whether we use our FREe WILL or keep our eyes on GOD'S WILL.
my experience has been  when I stumble into a problem The Father has helped me out of it. In cases where the Father allowed me to struggle was when I created the problem. Yet regardless I believe the Father tests us by seeing our heart condition as we work through a problem. I do not believe the Father creates the problem. The book of Job  I believe it is made quite clear. The Father lifted His hand of protection but He did not strike Job.
