All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Is there any Scriptural reference at all to the benefits of couples praying together?
I know the Spiritual bond is strengthened by praying together with ones spouse but need to find some Scripture on this. Thankyou and God bless! :)

Nancy,

There is not a verse that I am aware of that is directed to the husband and wife specifically regarding prayer. There are principles that apply to them as well as to all believers. Some of the goals are alignment with God and unity in purpose and mind. I believe the following verses speak to this question and hope they help:

Act_1:14  All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Act 2:42  And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Mat_18:20  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

Php 1:27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,

Php 2:2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Lord Bless,

LT

Matt18:20; Eph 5:19,30

Col 2:2; luke 24:13-15

Hope these are of what you were asking for

Aftyer leaving this post last night I was led to your very first scriptural reference. Acts1:14. I do believe strongly that praying together as a couple strengthens the Spiritual bond which I would place more faith and trust in than the frailty of human emotional bond.thankyou Lt and chris and arnie. These scriptures are very helpful. Lord bless you all! :)
