Stations of the Cross - Take Your children

Everyone who has children should consider taking their children on Good Friday to the service for Stations of the Cross.  I did last year and found it VERY educational for my children.  I think it drove home the true pain of that day. 

I think we (especially parents) tend to skip over the trial and crucifixion of Jesus and go straight for the resurrection.  This practice diminishes the true sacrifice.  My children were 7 & 9 at the time but they were old enough to start to comprehend the pain and anguish.  ANY child who is saved and baptized should be taught this part of the story....If they are old enough to be baptized, they are old enough to know the WHOLE story with all its pain.  Our sin crucified him EACH & EVERY one of us.  how God must love us to do this for such terrible, unappreciative creatures!

This year I am going to try to write a prayer for my children for each station.

During this Holy Week please keep Jesus' sacrifice very prominent in your mind.
