Tes, Delila, you are right. It's certainly good that we first establish our relationship with the Lord before jumping into any project. Our labour for the Lord must be fruits being yielded through our relationship with Him and not works coming out of our zeal and natural efforts. Jesus urges us to remain in Him because just as a branch cannot bear fruit except it abides in the vine so we can't bear fruit except we abide in Him. thanks for the encouragment Delila! and please do tell your friend i said hello! i also have a great Christian friend i met online and she started a great new Christian site on ning. the name of it is THE WHITE HORSE BRIGADE - check it out sometime. also i have to tell you something kinda funny - you probably are too young to remember this but the soap called ONE LIFE TO LIVE - well back in the eightys there was a character named Delila on it and you look a lot like she did. she was very pretty and had long dark hair - anyway i have not watched a soap in years but your name and pix makes me think of her. just one of my random crazy thoughts! lol have a great night!

Delila- i am so glad you shared with me your problems with praying and reading His word! i want to share something i hope will help. once again we have more in common! i too had a hard time understanding His word and i would feel so frustrated but i got a study Bible the NIV study Bible and most of all i started praying BEFORE i read and asking God to show me what i was suppose to understand, these two things have really help me understand more - i still get frustrated but much less so now! also i believe that satan really trys to mess with us while we are praying and i know that some times my mind will wonder all over the place! lol - i found a book that is great and has been a real help. the title is "THE TEN - SECOND PRAYER PRINCIPLE" by Mark Littleton. it is an easy read and just makes so much sense! if you can't find this book in your area, let me know and i will send you a copy. i really believe it will help. please keep me in your prayers for a home church as i will you too. i have been really hurt by Christian friends and i am working on learning to forgive and really want to find a home church with people i trust and will be a help growing in the Lord. i am so thankful for finding you! like i said before these sites are great for Christians who may not have a ton of Christian friends. take care and oh yea one more thing - i also have been told that the Bible called the Message Bible is great for daily reading. i felt i was cheating if i did not read KJV but not coming from a Christian backgroud i need all the help i can understanding His word. also reading the outline at the start of each book of the Bible has helped. take care and hope these little tips are some help! :)

Delila we have so much in common it is strange! but God knows all! i have been saved for many years but i have not really grown in the Lord until a couple of years ago. i am out of church at the moment and looking for a home church. i want what you said you felt like this past sunday! sites like this one (which i found on a fluke) is great for us. Christians need each other and i know i love learning from other Christians. one thing i did at new years is made a resolution to read the Bible in a year ( i did this just to have a schedule and because i too did not grow up in a Christian home and do not know many stories of the Bible) i am so glad i did this Delila! i am learning so much! i have always been good at having prayer time daily but i never read my Bible. i encourage you to do this if you are not - it will make a big difference! well take care and keep in touch! :)

thanks for writing back Delila. i do have something i want to share with you. i have been saved for years for my parents (really all of my family) was not saved and i prayed and prayed for YEARS and at times felt that they may never get saved well i lost both my beloved parents a couple of years ago with in months of each other to cancer. the wonderful thing is that my mother told me she had accepted Jesus before she died and my dad asked the Lord to be his savior one week before he died. so please never give up praying (i can tell you never would) for you hubby and others. also with in the last year many of family have found Jesus and started church. i praise our Lord for all this and hope it encourages you.
btw- i am 43 (boy i can't believe i am this old! lol) and been married 25 years to a wonderful Christian man. i have had lots of medical problems and we were never blessed with children. i have lived in florida (the same town) my entire life. i love it but hate the horrible heat and hurricanes! i want to visit new york so badly!! i love every thing about your city!! i love fashion and shopping (this is yet another thing we have in common!) and would love to shop in NYC! well- i am writing a book so i will stop - i bet you would be great working with teenager girls and i know the Lord will open the right doors for you! i did put your husband on another prayer site i am on for salvation. take care and God Bless!
