Hi Rev, I have been contemplating some interesting parralells lately and wondered about your thoughts on them. Though I can't quite figure out where I am heading on this, I am beginning to notice more and more of them.

Concider these; Moses hit water (as instructed) with a stick..also hit rock to obtain water with stick...Jesus is living water..Jesus was nailed to a tree..Jesus is the rock..Moses cast down his stick and it became a snake that consumed all the other ones..it is written that he will strike him in the head and he will strike him in the heel.

Concider the dove like holy spirit that came upon Jesus, and concider the dove that was sent out the boat to assure of new life..bringing back an olive branch (stick)..olives are also what was used for making oil. Holy spirit sometimes concidered oil...something to do with annoyinting...and it was in respect of a vast amount of water..(flood)..rainbow promises no more flooding of the earth..rainbow created by light against water droplets..jesus living water/light of the world.
Rainbow also seen with water and oil. Holy spirit+Jesus.
Also there was some description in regards to heaven having a bunch of precious sones in it..and the colours described seemed to me to be that of the rainbow.

While this seems like just a bunch of random facts crammed together..I think there is something in it.

What are your thoughts?

Howdy Maggie!

You said quote ****Well first off I tend to read before and after a verse when given the verse in order to put it into context and depending on the preceeding and following verse thereafter I may read the entire chapter.****

Well, I will say good for you. I encourage you to continue to do that. Yes, It is very important to keep the context of a passage of Scripture. And, If I may have a moment, I would like to show you something regarding this very point on End Time Bible Prophecy.

Let us take the 10 Commandments as our example in Exodus Chapter 20. When we read these 10 Commandments we find that these Commandments are given by God to Moses on Stone Tablets for the Nation of Israel in context. Ok so far. So, Now, Let me show you something that most people innocently overlook because they have not been taught to do so.

What do we do? We isolate One Commandment and take a deep look at the New Testament. Here is the 9th Commandment--Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Now, Isolated, and looking at the New Testament, Who does this Commandment point to?

Answer: Every Believer in Jesus Christ. Even more specifically, End Time Bible Prophecy Teachers and Ministers of the Holy Word of God. Why? Because if I was to teach something incorrectly about Prophecy, Then God holds me guilty of bearing false witness against His Holy Word and Himself. This makes me a False Bible Prophecy Teacher who is standing against God and His Holy Word whether I am aware of it or not.

Do you see how powerful this process is? The point? Continue reading Scriptures in Context. Yes. But, Don't overlook the Powerful Truth of a verse Isolated and applying that isolated verse to the New Testament. This process will blow your mind. You can also do this backward. Taking a New Testament verse and applying this verse to the Old Testament. An Example of this would be 2 Peter 3:5-6 and Genesis 1:1-2.

God Bless You!

Dr. Mike

The thing that has struck me on rather a personal level about the preceeding verses was how the people where instructed to 'teach' their daughters to wail..I find this interesting and would like your thoughts on this.
I am so greatful to have found someone willing to discuss and share their knowledge and insight on biblical matters..the 'meat' of the story that can present it in 'real' tangable and simple terms. Instead of theological, compliated and seemingly unatainable wisdom, as is so often the case when delving into the old testiment.

Thank you.

Rev, it is my hearts desire to know my Father as much as is possible to and if possible beyond the point of Moses.
I don't want to be at the bottom of Mt Sinai, I want to be in the tent with Father!
I fight against religitude and seek relationship.
I will hear what ever you have to say, and love to test each facet and explore it.
Not to argue, but to test it's fortitude, that I may apply with confidence for it's merrit of truth.
This is not to say that I will never dissagree, however I should like to test things to the fullest before I am confident that I truely have something worthy of dissagreeing, lest I miss the lesson that could strenghten my relationship.

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
GO TO COMMENTFEVER.COM
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.---JOSUE 1:8

Many people keep asking these things:
GO TO COMMENTFEVER.COM
GO TO COMMENTFEVER.COM

Yes... The secret of life was already revealed to all of us as written in Josue 1:8
before, i never knew about this because i was totally blinded by the god of this world

1 Cor. 4:3-4--And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
But to those who abide in His WordsGO TO COMMENTFEVER.COM
remain standing firm, whatever storms in life encounter...
The Word of God ( The Holy Bible ) is the manual of our life...it's difficult to use something like a computer if we don't know how to operate it and not reading the manual of it... same as our life... it will be difficult for us to carry our cross in life if we don't know His words and God's promises...in which can be found only in the bible ... That's why we must read it day and night, meditate His words... for God can also speak to us thru His Words.. and God is the Word itself! Jn. 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
So what is the secret of life that remains secret to others?Joshua 1:8 (Amplified Bible)
1. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night,
2. that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it.
3. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success
.

When we stop reading the bible, spiritual dryness comes...
then when here comes the trouble we can easily be defeated..

Today, as my kids watching Barney's show in TV.. which i saw a puppet show about the 3 little pigs who built their houses... I remember the Parable of the Two Builders ( Mt. 7:24-27 )Amplified Bible
So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a [a]sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.
And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand.
And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell--and great and complete was the fall of it.

Yes.. truly, Oh Lord, i said that moment that You are my great foundation and the center of my life... Without You, Your Words how could i stand firm... upon reading and meditating your Words, You give me strength to overcome everything.. No matter how many wolves will attack me I am very much secure for I choose to be in the best Foundation, inside this house (my heart and my soul)it's YOU that i put at the Center...

So we must always read the bible, and meditate His Words..for God is giving us wisdom and knowledge, directing us to the right path. And giving us prosperity in all aspect of life.. preparing us to be a victorious Christian!!!

hello, here's a joke to welcome you at AAG! God bless you today and always. by the way how did you get to know this christian site?

WHAT'S A CHURCH?

A well-worn one-dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country.

"I've had a pretty good life," the twenty-dollar bill proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean "

"Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"

"So tell me," says the twenty-dollar bill, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?"

The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church."

The twenty-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"
