All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

WHO WOULD DARE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD?

This is only my personal observation: I believe that at least 60 percent of what we as individuals KNOW - is merely what someone else TOLD us.
That leaves a lot to be questioned! Some things we have investigated and found answers that we were willing to accept as truth. Then there are the things that we have been taught and then experienced for ourselves. For me that would be the Grace and Mercy of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Then there are those things that we were told and just accepted as fact. One of these things would be the descriptive label’s that have been placed on us.

Do you have any idea how many of God's children are walking around feeling inferior about their appearance because someone dared to label them? Entirely too many! There are those who have been told and now think that they are too tall - short - fat - skinny... Then there are those who think that their nose is too big or too wide. The list goes on and on... Foreheads, feet, legs and Lord have Mercy the skin!

Some can receive these such belittling comments and take it in stride. Others like I myself once did, allow it to rule and ruin precious moments in life. Hesitating to present ourselves because we feel unworthy. Mentally abused and brainwashed, distancing ourselves further and further from the One who called us. For how can we claim to love God and yet reject what He has made? WHO would dare to separate us from the love of God like that?!

You Know... It just occurred to me that people can be just as badly effected (brainwashed) by being told that they are sooooo cute. In fact I know of someone personally who was raised on a pedestal. She was called Beautiful, pretty and continually praised for her hair, her skin color... A lady very close to me. No, I'm not jealous at all... she's a victim. In her words: "When I couldn't live up to the vision that 'they' had of me, I felt like a failure". She was all of those things physically, but even back then - she was lacking in character. To be honest about it - she stayed in the mirror too much to seek God's face. "They" had tampered with the vision that God had of this woman - because all 'they' could see was her outward beauty.

Never take the word of man concerning who you are! The Bible plainly tells you this... Who's word can dispute the Bible? Who is perfected that they may label imperfection? Who???

Again... WHO would dare to separate us from the love of God like that?!

Romans 8:34-35
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

PoemiaDei I love that verse also. So very appropriate - if only everyone was in the Word! Unfortunately they are not, at least not to that degree. When all of man really look at themselves as they are - in the image of the One who created us - indeed inferiority and superiority will cease to exist! I know of someone who loved the Lord but wouldn't attend church because she felt inferior to 'those people'. I saw that as an image that needed to be corrected in the person and also in the church.

Inspiring, Dee. The truth of the Body of Christ gives us a good understanding and appreciation of the importance of every believer in Christ. I think if we stop comparing ourselves with others we will be free from these vain sense of inferiority or superiority. The fact is such feelings are a deceit. God distributes His grace and gifts to His children in a manner that levels us all before Him. There is none who is made by God to be inferior or superior to another.

I like this Scripture passage:
2 Corinthians 10:12: "For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

Wonderful thoughts, and so well said, and so true!! As I read, I could imagine that that is just how you'd speak it. Thanks for sharing! May God richly bless you, and make you a blessing, as you share His love with others!
