All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Scriptural reading I Corinthians 1:18

For most of us struggling is a way of life and it seems that is just a normal thing. Even for a Christian, it is of course not easy to perform the task of spreading the gospel of Jesus. To conform our lives the way Jesus lived is a primary function once we accepted His lordship. Our whole spirit, soul and body should fit the instructions that He has for us in a daily basis.

v.18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness...(King James version).

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing...(New American Standard Bible version).

We as Christians should preach and share the gospel of Jesus Christ but as we carry out with these tasks for those who are perishing, this Gospel of Jesus Christ does not mean anything. It is foolishness for them. The word foolishness in Greek is "moria" meaning silliness or absurdity. Moria is derived from the word "moros" and probably from the base of the word "musterion" meaning dull or stupid as if like saying shut up. Musterion is from a derivative of "muo" meaning shut the mouth. As we hang on to this situation, we need help. We need power to get the message across.

It is important to know that it is impossible to have the power coming from us. The POWER is not in us. The words we are preaching and sharing to them are ineffective unless POWER will be given to us.

... but unto us which are saved it is the power of God".

The Gospel of Jesus is the power of God handed to us. It is now clear as we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ we will be having POWER. The words have become so powerful because it will be coming from God. These words are coming from almighty God. Our own words would not mean anything and will remain powerless unless they will all come from our omnipotent God. The Holy Spirit will give us POWER.

It is now very clear that we an access to an unlimited and unrestricted power that Jesus has given us as we share the good news. We have to use this power to further His gospel. We have UNLIMITED POWER from Jesus...FOREVER.
