Trusting God for Everything!
To live by faith means to "Totally Trust God for Everything!" Now really think about that. "Everything". Your job, your spouse, your relationships, your money, your car, your positions, and every situation. Everything! It means when things don't make sense in the natural that you have the belief that God is working everything out, even when it looks like things are falling apart. It is knowing that things are actually falling "together". It means trusting that everything will be ok. How hard is this to do especially when something has happened in your life that is very difficult to deal with, and all you want to do is scream, yell, and do something about it in your own power.
At times like these it is really hard to trust that God has everything under control, and that everything works for the good of those who love Christ Jesus. We know his word and that he says that he cares for us and will take care of us. So why is it so hard to trust him at these times of our life? It is a lack of faith because you cannot trust without faith. You cannot have faith without belief. One thing requires the other. So without faith you cannot trust. So how do you build faith? You start by making a decision to believe. You have a choice. You can believe that what you see is the whole story and that things are just that awful or you can believe that God is actually behind in the background working on your behalf. It is also at times like this that God stretches us so our faith can be increased.
Psalms 18:2-3 says: The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.
Nahum 1:7 says: The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
The Bible says that he is our strength, our deliverer, and that he cares for those who trust in him, but to obtain that promise we must first trust him, and the way to trust is faith, and the way to faith is belief. So we must make a conscious decision to believe in the words that he spoke. We must believe that he would never lie to us and that his words are true. We must believe in him.
