All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

January 14

“They contemn the counsel of the Most High.”

Contemn; To slight; to neglect as unworthy of regard; to reject with disdain.

To despise; to consider and treat as mean and despicable; to scorn.

The evil men, of this world, despise the Lord for His word, and His laws. We see many that have a profound hatred of anything that has to do with the Lord, or those that believe on the name of His Son Jesus. Even in this up coming inauguration of a new president, we see many that hate the man giving the prayer or invocation, and others praise the president elect in calling another man to pray also who is a homosexual, this man knows nothing of the word of God, and neither does he believe in it.

“Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.”

Why do many hate God, for the Lord is seeking to save all, justify all, and to bless all. The Bible states that the Lord is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. But no man will seek the Lord.

The Ten Commandments is a start, where many hate God. The Ten commandments state clearly;

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

Honour thy father and thy mother

Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Thou shalt not covet

Many of these Commandments are broken each and every day, by not just the individual but, of businesses, governments, and nations. Wicked men now control most everyones daily lives. Stealing from the worker, the poor, and the disabled.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God, they will not allow their works to be made manifest to all, hiding behind the legal processes, and confidentiality laws. Do men actually believe that the Lord doesn't see the things that they are doing. Many hate God because, He does reveal, the wickedness that they do.

“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.”

Countenance; This application of face or countenance, which seems to be of high antiquity, proceeded probably from the practice of turning away the face to express anger, displeasure and refusal; a practice still common, but probably universal among rude nations.

When this nation, and the world, turns away from God, His hand of protection comes off. He will only tolerate sin for a season, and this season is quickly coming to and end.

There are wars, floods, earthquakes and much more that have begun to happen, more than I have ever seen in my, or my fathers, fathers, life time.

Where are all those that say, its nothing but nature, nature of man to war and the nature of the planet we live on. Science has tried to hide all these things in their great swelling words, which corrupt the mind and spirits of people.

False preachers, deacons, ministers, prophets all, who deny the words of the Lord, and His word. A time of reckoning and restitution is coming.

“He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.”

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

“For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” Not all men who say they serve and believe in God, worship the God of the Bible. We cannot justify any of these religions, in law, or by word, or deed, and still believe in Jehovah.

Exo_20:3

Before me - Literally, “before my face.” The meaning is that no god should be worshiped in addition to Yahweh. Compare Exo_20:23. The polytheism which was the besetting sin of the Israelites did not in later times exclude Yahweh, but associated Him with false deities.

“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.”

To serve other gods, is to accept them as equal, or acceptable, in a mono-theistic society, where the law were based on the Holy Bible. Many argue that there is a separation of Church and State, this is wrong thinking, for God established government, laws and without Him there would be no laws, no government, just tribulation.

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

A sabbath day is not just Sunday, but any day we elect to be holy before the Lord.

Even in this country, Christmas has become a debated subject among atheist and non believers. Many are trying to eliminate all references to the Birth of Christ along with any references to God.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

Vain; Empty; worthless; having no substance, value or importance. Proud of petty things, or of trifling attainments; elated with a high opinion of one's own accomplishments, or with things more showy than valuable; conceited. “This precept not only forbids all false oaths, but all common swearing where the name of God is used, or where he is appealed to as a witness of the truth. It also necessarily forbids all light and irreverent mention of God, or any of his attributes.”

Honour thy father and thy mother.

Children killing parents, is a common occurrence in this country today, many will kill over a video game, as was just reported yesterday, many over money, friends and some even kill believing they are vampires, a sick world and a dieing society.

Thou shalt not kill.

Killing of the body and the spirit. Many governments around the world, including many false religions, kill the spirit of man. Forcing them to accept a way of life that hinders growth and knowledge. Many countries have banned the Bible and have prevented many from receiving the true knowledge of world events.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Adultery;

Conjugal infidelity. An adulterer was a man who had illicit intercourse with a married or a betrothed woman, and such a woman was an adulteress. Intercourse between a married man and an unmarried woman was fornication. Adultery was regarded as a great social wrong, as well as a great sin.

Idolatry, covetousness, and apostasy are spoken of as adultery spiritually (Jer_3:6, Jer_3:8, Jer_3:9; Eze_16:32; Hos_1:1, Hos_2:1, Hos_3:1 Rev_2:22). An apostate church is an adulteress (Isa_1:21; Eze_23:4, Eze_23:7, Eze_23:37), and the Jews are styled “an adulterous generation” (Mat_12:39). (Compare Rev. 12.)

Men today not only commit adultery in the flesh but also in the spirit. They try to worship the Lord but also worship other false gos. The least of which are, wealth, power, status, seeking honor and praise of men instead of the praise of God. Men will say and do anything to receive power over mankind, elections are a good example.

Thou shalt not steal.

Theft by deception, theft by force. We have seen much of this everywhere. In the U.S. We see many steeling finances by the millions of dollars. We see companies steeling from their workers. Even governments steeling the savings of many poor and retired persons.

Exo 20:15

Thou shalt not steal - All rapine and theft are forbidden by this precept; as well national and commercial wrongs as petty larceny, highway robberies, and private stealing: even the taking advantage of a seller’s or buyer’s ignorance, to give the one less and make the other pay more for a commodity than its worth, is a breach of this sacred law. All withholding of rights and doing of wrongs are against the spirit of it.

But the word is principally applicable to clandestine stealing, though it may undoubtedly include all political injustice and private wrongs. And consequently all kidnapping, crimping, and slave-dealing are prohibited here, whether practiced by individuals or by the state. Crimes are not lessened in their demerit by the number, or political importance of those who commit them. A state that enacts bad laws is as criminal before God as the individual who breaks good ones.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”

Lying is almost the way of our government and the peoples of the world. Its hard to know, any more, who and who isn't telling the truth. The only real truth we can find is in the Scriptures.

Thou shalt not covet.

Covetousness;

A strong desire after the possession of worldly things (Col_3:5; Eph_5:5; Heb_13:5; 1Ti_6:9, 1Ti_6:10; Mat_6:20). It assumes sometimes the more aggravated form of avarice, which is the mark of cold-hearted worldliness.

To desire inordinately; to desire that which it is unlawful to obtain or possess; in a bad sense.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors house, wife or servant.

Covetousness is one of the greater sins that todays world commits. Man has tried to take over lands, wealth, women, and goods that are not theirs to possess. The one that really stands out today is the Palestinian and Hamass governments, trying to destroy Israel and posses the land which God gave to Israel as a permanent and everlasting possession.

Another one that really stands out today is the mark of cold-hearted worldliness and arrogance of the nations of the Middle East, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Syria and others that are calling for the complete destruction of Israel. This land belongs to Israel and no peace talks should be held with any nation that does not recognize the right of Israel to exist.

Just a thought. Ars.
