All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

The real problem I have with witnessing

Ok, there's still some problems with the JWs but, thanks to the Lord, the problems have dwindled to a smaller number.

I realize the main problem I have with witnessing to dad,mom and my uncle. If I say something I could just be told that the Bible is man man, it has errors. What kind of fruitage is that? All that has to be said is the Bible is wrong/has errors.

Like when I tried showing my uncle about the 144,000 and the great crowd after the 12 tribes of Israel were listed. Rev. 7:9

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

I got told the Bible's a book written by man, it's got contridictions. That proves it. -_- :sighs:

Mom asked before if I believed Jesus is God. I told her it's in the Bible. She said the Bible's wrong than.

My dad is suppose to be Catholic. He told me though before that the Holy Spirit is God's active force. I thought Catholics believed in the Trinity...That reminds me of Mrs._, she taught me history back in 10th grade 1st semestar (I think it was 6th period, right after 5th period lunch). We were doing something on world religions. Christianity,Islam,Hinduism,Buddism...I forget the other one if there was another one. The group I was in  was assigned Hinduism.

Mrs.__, who was suppose to be Catholic (there was alot of people who were Catholic who taught in my High School). She "corrected" a boy saying Jesus isn't God, He's the Son of God. Who says he/she is Catholic yet denys the devinity of Christ?

Anyways, I remember dad used to do that Father,Son,Holy Spirit sign before eating special meals, like at Thanksgiving. I don't think we did it last year though. He did it alot when my parents and I went up to, dad's mom, grandma's for Sunday dinner when I was younger (I think it was around the time of 4th or 5th grade she started really needing help-she died when I was in 6th grade,May of 2005). I remember my aunt and uncle (different uncle, one of dad's brothers) took me to get my hair straightened. It may have been because my hair got me easily made fun of and, not always, but people could throw things in it (It's really curly.I'm not sure if I take after mom's mom but I know I get it from dad's mom-she was 100% Italian. When she was younger, you could see her really curly Italian hair, like in her Wedding photo. That's why I have really poofy hair. You could see dad did too when he was younger by some of his pictures).

Anyways, they took me to get my hair "fixed" (which ended up going back to curly anyway). I remember the phone call. Grandma (she was in a home where people could take car of her) had died. It's weird. I admit it,selfish me, took advantage of her. I didn't expect her Sunday dinners to stop(that's what I remember the most about her-she loved cooking and she loved food). I didn't expect for her to die. Sure she was in a nursing home but I guess I just expected her to stay there. Not thinking the next step is death. I played my stupid Pokemon games so much while I was visiting. I should have payed more attention to her, I should have cared more. I remember I celebrated my birthday in the nursing home March 9th 2005. My 13th brithday was the last birthday I'd ever celebrate with her. I didn't expect around two months letter for her to die. If I could change things I would. If I could go back and leave the video game at home (it was a hand held game boy advance) I would.

The thing is I took advantage of grandpa, too (mom's dad). Now he's so far away in a home (pray he finds Jesus). Atleast we could go visit grandma. We can't grandpa for he's really far away in the country.

I'm really confused. The Trinity isn't Father,Son and the Holy Spirit as an active force...Dad was suprised anyway when I commented how the guy on t.v was wrong for saying his good works would get him to Heaven.

So, since dad doesn't have a 100% foundation as a Catholic I'm not sure how to witness to him. What is his foundation on? It isn't the Bible because he said it's written by man or whatever. Mom is mixed in between Christendom and JW beliefs. Her foundation isn't 100% the Bible ether. My uncle also doesn't have a foundation for his beliefs since he said the Bible is man-made as well.

Now, even with those with foundations in Islam,Buddism,JWs or whatever atleast I could know what they believe so I could study, if needed, because they have a foundation. That way I wouldn't seriously mess up since I'd know basicly what they would believe. My parents and my uncle are a different story. They don't have a foundation therefore how can I know ahead of time what they believe? :sighs: See what I mean?

That's why it's so difficult for me to witness to them. Between no foundation and being able to just say the Bible is in error whenever a doctrine isn't agreed with. What kind of fruitage is that? Why does it seem like a waste of breath...

I'm wondering, am I a bad person for what I'm doing? I know that has to be a lie from Satan, I just need to know.

Am I a bad person for going online and trying to find help without them knowing? I know I'm not a little kid that needs tp be watched online every 5 minutes...am I bad for talking to others about the problems they're (my parents and uncle) in...

What's wrong with me? Am I a bad daughter?

*/  I thought Catholics believed in the Trinity... /*

They do, indeed.  The Catholic Encyclopedia says this :

The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion — the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another.

Further, the Catechism of the Catholic Church--the Church's official statement of beliefs, teachings and doctrines--is clear and unequivocal in affirming the Trinity.  Here's an excerpt from Paragraph 253.

The dogma of the Holy Trinity

253 The Trinity is One.  >We do not confess three Gods, but one God in three persons, the "consubstantial Trinity".

May you be blessed by the extravagant love of God our Father, the amazing grace of our Savior Jesus Christ, and the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit,

Colby

You, too? Sister when did He save you? He saved me a little over two years ago as well. Sat.,May 29th 2010.

I have huge problems with that as well. I can't seem to pray out loud. That and I have a very hard time knowing what to put in the prayer room when it comes to praying for people. I can talk to Jesus about what so and so is going through. It's just when it comes to typing out prayers...

Another really big problem I have with communcation is...I don't know how to start up a conversation too well. If they asked I could tell them alot easier since they said something first. But, when I have to say something first...that's when I really have issues.
