There was once a family who having a family celebration decided to roast a turkey. In addition, they invited a local authority to share in the meal. Everyone gathered at the table of the offering to receive their due for participating in this event. Upon seeing the sacrifice as it were; the local authority proclaimed, “what a beautiful presentation, but why is there two and not one presentation of the bird”.

I may have put away tradition mentally, but not physically as yet. It is a struggle when u a enclosed by a huge family built on tradition. But God is amazing. So time will tell.

Hi Tonia

See you are from T&T, so it should be no surprise that of caribbean heritage your family is mixed with different backgrounds or is typical of any caribbean born person. Even those of 'pure blood' being immersed into reggae, soca, corn meal and all ethics foods.

The way we view things have been passed down by generations before us and this is tradition and religion both are a form of slavery being chained to the old ways of  blind respect and because it works and don't need fixing, then whyj change it.

It is the ultimate Mix up of things.

Being a Christian means wiping the slate clean and do things only from God's righteous ways and not picking and choosing from diiferent baskets to make one full with everyone contributing to it. The basket of Christianity has its own fruits that fill it, so that there will be no tainting or claims not ordained by God.

The church under religion has dragged with it thoughts, diplomacy and politics alien to the walk of Christ and neither clears the way for a 'pure walk' as Christ did. This is why He (God) and the Pharisee (religion) were oppose to each other with strong words that were used to charged them with hypocrosy and keeping people in slavery by traditions.

We must place tradition at the lowest bar in walking as Christians less it numbs our hearts to the Spirit of God.
