All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let’s rejoice and be glad today. Ps 118:24
This is a choice we make, in the face of trouble. Yes, we all have times when, it feels like life has chosen to take us out, to eliminate us. However, the Truth is that today, this day He has made. We have a choice to make, will we be angry at what He has made. v23 The LORD is responsible for this, and it is amazing for us to see. I believe God is always after that one thing, “our hearts.” Grace, Righteousness and Faith are all gifts. 8 God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God. 9 It's not the result of anything you've done, so no one can brag about it. 10 God has made us what we are. He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that he has prepared for us to do. Eph 2:8:10 But, our hearts and giving those hearts back to Him, showing Him how thankful we are to Him, using the gifts for Him, that is a choice.

Make no mistake there are bad things that happen. There is no denying that fact. Bad things happen to people all the time, it will come down to what are you going to do about them. Do they give us a right to make others feel bad? Or, in the face of them are we to rejoice. We don’t rejoice because of them, we rejoice in spite of them. The other day there was a post about Paul and Silas. Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God. The other prisoners were listening to them. Acts 16:25 As the brother had said it was after a beating. As we read in verse 22 the whole crowd beat them, then on top of that, the guards w/ sticks beat them. Not only did they Praise God, but when the opportunity came to leave the jail they didn’t. What by all appearances looked as a answer to pray, was used to bring the jailer and his family to Jesus. Do I think there could of been a less painful way, to bring that family to Christ. Maybe but, not near as Powerful. Paul tells us many times, how God used the apostles in this fashion. Look what Jesus went through. Bad and painful things happen yet, This is the day that the Lord has made. Let’s rejoice and be glad today. Ps 118:24 It is not just the world that needs to see us live this way. We must encourage each other this way. These words are not to judge any who are struggling, we have no idea how God will use, what we are going through today, for another tomorrow. No, these words are saying, no matter what you face, take comfort that the Lord made today. And in His creation we can, rejoice and be glad.

Chris

Another excellant post.  I especially liked the question you presented about when bad things happen to us . You asked  " do they ( bad things that happen to us ) give us the right to make others feel bad ? "    Ihave know people that have actually believed that this did give they the right to hurt others ; but I feel that these things should make us more understanding and supportive of those  who are having bad times because we can truly understand where they're coming from.

God bless you , my friend.

This is tremendously encouraging, and so very, very true! We do need to show the world a different way of living and responding to difficulties so that they see the love, the grace of Christ shining through! When the world gets progressively more difficult to live in, we, as believers, need to be the shelter for the hurting, and to do so, we need to be able to soak in the Lord's amazing grace and Love so we can pour it back unto others, showing for them what the world does not know about: the amazingly great news about the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ Who came to give salvation to the world, not condemnation! Amen!
