All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Look around and listen.  Everyone seems to have one major flaw going on.  "ME".  You hear it daily.  "I WANT", "MINE", and "GIVE IT TO ME" appear in almost all daily conversations anymore.  No matter what it is about, ME becomes the central point. How foolish and ignorant and self-centered we have become. For being the most intelligent creatures walking the face of the earth, we are so stupid.  Our world does NOT revolve around us, but DOES revolve around HIM.  Only GOD has the right to say "I WANT" and "MINE" and "GIVE IT TO ME", as well as "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME" and yes "THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND ME".  In fact the entire "everything" revolves around HIM.

We think we are important, we are not.  We think we matter, we do not.  We think what we do counts, it does not.  The ONLY thing that matters is HIM.  Does HE love us?  Yes.  Does HE care what we think about anything?  NO.  HE cares about HIS GLORY and how we can shine with HIS GLORY.

Think about the very last time you said the words "I WANT" and recall what it was at that moment.  Can you?  Wasn't important.  However, at that moment you wanted nothing else.  There are those of us who think using those words to make others do our bidding is normal. I want this, I want that, I want ... ugh, who cares what you want?  It is NOT important.  You want something that IS important?  Shine in HIS GLORY.  Beam in HIS LOVE.  Be the tool HE made you to be.  You are not just a person walking this earth suffering.  You are a loved tool of GOD and here for ONE purpose.  TO GLORIFY GOD.

Oh, about that suffering part.  You think you are the only one who suffers?  Your suffering is meaningless.  Who cares?  No one!  Only one person ever truly suffered and even HE, the very SON of GOD, was not released from his misery by GOD.  So who do you think you are to even think that GOD would erase all your pain and suffering?  HE is a just GOD, HE is a loving GOD, HE is even a healing GOD, but he does NOT bend to your will.  HE gives us suffering so that we may use it to show HIS GLORY and HIS LOVE.  Did CHRIST beg to be pain free?  Or did HE GLORIFY HIS FATHER through HIS suffering?  CHRIST suffered the ultimate suffering. CHRIST gave HIS life so that we could all have eternal life with HIM, OUR FATHER.

Can you say you have suffered anything even remotely close to this kind of suffering?  Can you say you have praised GOD in your deepest hours of suffering?  Have you thanked GOD for allowing you to feel?  Or have you sat back and complained about how unfair it is to have to hurt like this?  Did CHRIST complain about how unfair it was to DIE for YOU?  CHRIST gave HIS LIFE so that we could all have eternal life. A blessed gift from OUR CREATOR.  An eternity without pain and suffering.

Our time here on earth is but a single breath to GOD.  HE has already seen all that is, all that was, and all that is yet to be.  There is nothing GOD does not know.  So, who are we to GOD?  We are HIS children, HIS tools, HIS beacons to broadcast HIS GLORY.  Our only purpose is to GLORIFY HIM.  Remember this the next time you sit there and choose to complain about all the pain and suffering you are going through.  Then think about the only suffering that mattered.  Compare the two and see just how insignificant and trivial your suffering truly is. When your suffering outweighs HIS then you have something spectacular to complain about.  Until then do not waste your time groaning and moaning.  Spend your words on HIM.  Make HIM the center of your world, not you.  You are nothing.  HE IS ALL.

Dear Beverly

An excellent post and something worthy of our dedicated consideration. I have encountered too many people who think that mere human faith can overide divine sovereighnty ( sp?) . In Colossians Paul mentions ( almost in passing ) that "God works all things after the counsel of HIS OWN will.

Please understand that I am not trying to minimize the importance of faith in grasping and clinging to the promises of God  .  I am simply stating that our faith in something happening will never override the plan God has for our specific jouney with Him.   He works all things for our good . He doesn't say we have to agree that they are good , He simply says that we will ( in His time ) understand the reasons for Him allowing things to happen to us that we don' t consider to be ' good' .

Surrendering to His will is the important thing . Paul proved this when he prayed on 3 seperate occassions to be healed but God didn't heal Him . He gave Him a much better treasure .  That being  that His ( God's ) grace would be sufficient to meet all of Paul's needs. Paul recognized this when he said that God allowed this so Paul wouldn't grow conceited ( my word not God's ) because of the abundance of God's revelations to him.

There are a couple of statements that I don't completely agree with if I am understanding them in the true context of your meaning.

"Who cares what you want ? it is NOT important ."

"Your suffering is meaningless . Who cares? No one !

"Did Christ beg to be pain free ? "

I believe that God deeply cares about what we think . He sent Jesus to die for our sins and the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth .  Proverbs tells us that " As a man thinks in his heart , so is he ." God has "turned the world upside down " to influence our thinking  in relation to Himself.

As far as our suffering being "meaningless " .  Again God sent Christ to provide an answer to all of our suffering . He cares very much that we learn  from the things we suffer and are not beaten down by them.  The bible also teaches us that Christ learned obedience through His suffering and so should we .

He provided the perfect example of obedience in the face of suffering.

" Did Christ beg to be free from pain ? "  His true humanity came forth when He asked the Father " If it is possible ,let this cup pass from Me .. "   He didn't  want to ( in His flesh ) suffer what He knew as coming  but  He chose the path of obedience in spite of what He knew was coming.

was this a sign of weakness on the part of Jesus  ( to ask if it was possible for the cup to pass from  Him)?

Absolutely NOT !!   It was simply a sign that He was truely man as well as being truely God.  He overcame the terrible task by surrenderring all to the will of His Father . What He 'learned' by His obedience many of us are still in the process of learning .  We will continue to be plagued by many weaknesses until we learn to surrender ( as Jesus demonstrated emphatically ) ALL to God .

I assure you , my friend that I'm not trying to dispute what your saying I'm simply stating  my point for clarification.  What I've stated may be exactly what you were saying only in a little different way with , possibly a little difference intention.

I apologize , in advance , if I have offended or misunderstood what you are saying.  I am in totall agrrement that we complain way too much and would find greater peace and be much more profitable to the kingdom when we totally surrender to God .  It 's is an ever learning process .

God bless you and thank you for this post.
