All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

MATTHEW CHAPTER 6

19     ¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20     But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21     For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

So often people try to find there fame and try to get rich with out one thought about God. And they worry about things of this world. Jesus is not telling you here not to try to make money, every one needs money to buy food and things they need.  He is telling us to keep are mind on God, and the things that please God. Like helping poor people that need help with out expecting them to ever repay you. He wants you to remember when you pray your praying to a real God that  loves you vary much, ,And not for show and so Jesus said

MATTHEW CHAPTER 6

¶ Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
¶ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

.

We see God knows all are needs already. But we are to ask him once and then believe until we receive what we ask him for. This is how God helps us trust in him and grows are faith in him. Your prayers have nothing to do with other people, only with you, and God. This does not mean you can not pray for some one you know in need. Just don,t do it for show in front of the people your praying for, and now here is how Jesus tells us to play.

MATTHEW CHAPTER 6

¶ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10     Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11     Give us this day our daily bread.
12     And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13     And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

All God is saying here is you need forgiveness, and to forgive others. He wants you to know He is your father in heaven, and he is holy, and needs us to be holy also. But we can not be holy unless we ask for forgiveness. And we know we are forgiven with the blood of Jesus. We need forgiven of are sins debts, and trust-passes. And all we need to do is ask, and turn away from evil. This is his will for us while we are on earth or in heaven. He is God of both heaven, and earth.
