All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

We seek God and His counsel. God has shown us His ability to speak to us in so very many ways. He spoke light into existence. When He told the Israelites to take the land, His Power was w/o question. David put Goliath down w/ a stone. When Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of baal, to show the people whom they should serve. After the 450 prophets carried on to no avail. We read in 1 King 18:20-40 Elijah rebuilt the altar then he talked to God. Answer me, LORD! Answer me! So a fire from the LORD fell down and consumed the burnt offering, wood, stones, and dirt. The fire even dried up the water that was in the trench. 39 All the people saw it and immediately bowed down to the ground. "The LORD is God!" they said. "The LORD is God!" Yet, still I think God shows His absolute Power in ways we would not always expect. In 1 Kings 19;11-13 we read As the LORD was passing by, a fierce wind tore mountains and shattered rocks ahead of the LORD. But the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind came an earthquake. But the LORD wasn't in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake there was a fire. But the LORD wasn't in the fire. And after the fire there was a quiet, whispering voice. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his coat, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then the voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
The most powerful example of this is, Jesus. The people were expecting their Messiah to come w/ fierce power and rid them of the Roman yoke by force. Well, He did come w/ fierce Power more then any of them could see. He rid us all of the yoke of the flesh. He came in a humble way, few if any expected Him to arrive the way He did. Because, they expected the Messiah to come one way, so many missed Him completely. We pray and beg God to show us what He wants. We look at our needs and think, for Him to answer me this or that must happen. The scriptures are clear about healing, needs being met, and so many more things. Yet, we must ask ourselves, are we truly opened to hear God’s Voice. Yes, He can answer in so many big and loud ways. However, if we think that those are the only “clear” ways He answers, we will miss the “still small voice” the quiet whispering voice. For it is clear, it is in that fashion He speaks to us most of the time.

Thank you. I really needed your comment.

Nancy and Kristina, My prayer for us all is to always be in a place to hear His Voice, and also to have the courage to follow Him no matter where He leads.  I just desire to allow Him freedom in all parts fo my life.

Till next time. Bye for now

Very good word .  I have 'heard His voice ' many times simply in the cicumstances of my life.  Sometimes they are so subtle that I miss them at first . But on looking back I see where He has given an answer to prayer that I missed from being to anxious.

Then there is the ' inner prompting' ( for lack of a better term ) that let's me know He is trying to lead in a certain direction and will not ease up until I act.

Then there are the times , such as the time I surrendered my life to Him that He simply placed  ' the peace of God that passes all understanding  ' into my heart.  There are no more precious moments to me than when He does that.

Thanks for this wonderful reminder, I really needed it.

God bless

As we yield to Him and what He wants for us, His Voice is clear.

We are told how to yield, it is our flesh that get in the way.  We want what we want.  That can be our problem.  As we humble ourselves to God, follow the examples that Jesus showed us, Holy Spirit will and does lead us.  So often we don't want ot hear what He is telling us.  We must rid our minds of "fair" we bow to His Justice.  As we let go of what we want and set our minds on Him, His Voice becomes more clear.  Remeber there is No Condemation for those wha are in Christ Jesus.  We have freedom to be who are in Jesus.  At first things can be difficult yet, as we yield to the things of our flesh, His Power and Grace flows through us.  Somethings are worth dying for!!!  Jesus died for us, we can by His Grace and Power die to our flesh, and Hear His Voice all the more clearer.  Do not allow the enemy to tell you anything writen here is to put you down.  he is a liar!!  All I am trying to say is," you can do all of this as you yield"

Hearing the Lord for me is, just me simply listening and not talking (meditating) on Him. I remember one night( couple months ago) I was just getting ready to fall asleep, when I  heard a voice speak audibly to me, I believe with all my heart that this was God. He said to me " I will teach you" just that simple. I said in my head, what are You going to teach me? He said " Wait, and you will see". To rewind things a bit, I previously said in my prayer before I was going to fall asleep, that I wanted God to teach me to pray prayers that will not just reach the ceiling, but reach His throne! Isn't God good?. But wait there's still more! The next day, was bible study, and my first Lady decided to teach a series on PRAYER! I just want to praise God for being such a Faithful, True God that He is! To this day, I have been asking God to reveal His voice to me each and everyday, that I will tune out my thoughts and let Him speak to me. So Amanda I just encourage you today that you just ask God to help you hear His voice better, and He will! Praise God.

Blessing be upon you, brothers & sisters in the Lord.
