To all my brothers and sisters on AAG,

My apologies for not responding to your postings that I receive from time to time and also for not joining in on the chat room like I used to. The last couple of months have been both busy and most of all, uplifting. God has now started to answer my prayers, (and there has been many) and my involvement in our church has increased somewhat to say the least.

As some of you know, I am one of several techies that help to run the PA and overhead projection side of things at church and I also play bass guitar as and when required when one of the regular bassists is unavailable. The church offers its facilities to outsiders who book the various rooms that are available and are now offering their PA and Video facilities as well, and that means more work for me. I do not ask for payment as I believe that God has directed me to our church so that I can use some of my talents which in turn, helps to bring money into the church coffers. The Voices Unlimited rock choir which I have been involved with since January 2011 have now started a new second choir  which now means both Tuesday and Thursday evenings have me on the sound desk controlling all the backing music and projection, so lots to do. However, last weekend I was approached by the main musical director of all the worship bands and asked if I would like to play bass for one of the bands as the bassist will be away for three months, probably more. My response was definitely “yes please” and I start this coming weekend.

I thank God every day for both Diane and my life and also my gifts and talents which are now being used to the full. He is an amazing God who in time, does answer some of our prayers.

In Lamentations 3:22-23 it says

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. (NIV)

I know that some of you are going through difficult times, some more than others but what I will say to you is that God WILL answer your prayers, maybe not in the way you wanted him to, but in the way he thinks best. No longer do I question his ways like I used to do some years ago. Someone once said “Continuing to trust God is the key to victory in painful and seemingly unjust situations. Faith and prayer move the hand of God. If we continue believing, he promises to continue moving in our behalf to work everything out for good”

I also know that God can take away in a flash, what he has given us, so we need to make sure that we thank him every day for our lives, our friends, our gifts and talents and much more.
