All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

From My Perspective - - - In 2001 while Barrack Obama was a state senator in Illinois, the following Public Radio Interview with Obama was recorded: “Tragedy that 'redistribution of wealth' not pursued by the Supreme Court…The Constitution 'Reflected Fundamental Flaw Of This Country That Continues To This Day'...” The entire interview can be heard by going to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck If one carries this concept to an extreme, there could be the Redefinition of the US Constitution from “We The People…” to the changing philosophy of “Wean The People…”

The entire concept of “Spreading the Wealth Around” can have some interesting eventualities if and as the concept is applied. A friend shared the following Theoretical Vignette: “Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I Need The Money." I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" necktie. Again, I laughed as he had given away his political preference. Just imagine the coincidence! When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama Redistribution of Wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application."

A couple of things are inherent in the overall Redistribution Concept: (1) The core belief is that we belong not to ourselves, but to government. We are tools that the government is free to use to bring about "economic justice." The fruits of our labor belong to government...and government can do with them what it pleases; and (2) At the root, Redistribution and Redefinition is a Marxist/Communist tenant…Increasing taxes is not because the government needs the money, but because the people who do have the money don't actually deserve it and there are other people who need it more – so it is Redistributed… Karl Marx's Statement Of The Creed in the 'Critique of the Gotha Program' is as follows: “In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly—only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: FROM EACH ACCORDING TO HIS ABILITY, TO EACH ACCORDING TO HIS NEEDS!”

Consider these things with me - - - but remember that the work ethic should not be blurred or suppressed. It is increasingly difficult to espouse a Biblical Work Ethic within a Post-Christian Culture. We should never forget the teachings of Scripture, such as I Thessalonians 4:11-12, “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and TO WORK WITH YOUR HANDS, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and SO THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DEPENDENT ON ANYBODY.” Also in II Thessalonians 3:10-12, “ For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: If a man will not work, he shall not eat. We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to SETTLE DOWN AND EARN THE BREAD THEY EAT.” There are always clear choices! Marxism and Christianity are stark contrasts. The work ethic is clear and precise. There is a radical difference between Jesus Christ and Karl Marx. We need to move from the apathy and indifference – the lethargy and laziness - of our times, and embrace Biblical principles for life that are free from lofty (and empty) rhetoric. This nation is very near to enslavement to the State and is seemingly complacent regarding the tragedy that comes with that kind of Change! There’s still time to make the right and wise choice! Don’t miss your opportunity to choose Jesus Christ.
