What exactly was the message Jesus was teaching us in the Lord’s prayer? How must we feast on the bread of life?
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And…

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
A graven image is defined as “an object of worship”. Using Scripture, it may be better stated as a “false” object of worship.
Looking at the context of the Commandment in both Deuteronomy 5 and Exodus 20, God says to worship only Him, and a…

The Sabbath: is it required and on which day?
“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and…

2 Corinthians 12:20
For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish—that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.
While there should be no quarreling or disorder in the church, it seems like it is constantly engaged in this.
As Christians we should show the love of God to the unsaved, as well as have brotherly love… Continue

This was in a devotion I read recently. I set it as a calendar reminder daily at 7 am. Something no doubt we could all use reminding of on a daily basis. Since we will likely see many things each day that we won't feel very thankful for, we should start each day with it.
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. (NLT) -Colossians 4:2
When you focus on the things you don't have you begin to undervalue the blessings God has given you. Then… Continue

Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes as she pushed against a November gust and the florist shop door.
Her life had been easy, like a spring breeze. Then in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a minor automobile accident stole that from her.
During this Thanksgiving week she would have delivered a son. She grieved over her loss. As if that weren't enough, her husband's company threatened a transfer. Then her sister, whose holiday visit she coveted, called… Continue

My cousin Dale has been a singer/songwriter since he was old enough to hold a guitar on his knee. It wasn't until after he was saved that he was approached by a record producer who wanted him to record a country music album. He ultimately turned them down because the music they wanted him to sing no longer worked for him in his walk with God. He is now the praise team leader in the local Winfield Baptist Church. His latest was posted just 4 days ago and is another hit in my… Continue

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. Continue
After waiting a few minutes I honked again.
Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked..
'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across…

A thought occurred to me this morning that the hardships in our lives are like a good manicure.
When we get an ingrown nail, it hurts to cut it out, but ignoring it allows it to fester and become more painful over time. The same thing is true of the hurts in our lives. If we keep things like bitterness or unforgiveness inside, rather than let them out to God,… Continue

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
Why is it so hard to love others? Why do we keep failing to follow God's commands? Why do we struggle to forgive others? Why can we not be perfect if we're told to be perfect?
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.…

Why some Christians struggle with their salvation
There is a clear message in scripture that some Christians haven’t yet been in the Word long enough to grasp or have such strongholds built up that it takes a while to break old mindsets. Paul struggled. But it was what he realized, the revelation we all need to receive, that kept him from feeling the condemnation many feel.
Romans 7:15 I do…

My cousin Chrystal has a blog site she's called The Awkward Pastor's Wife. She typically posts some quite funny lessons in life she's learned along the way. But her latest is sad news. Yet the way she's handling it is a blessing to read.…

I was really very negative during the first few years I was saved and people would tell me God won't help me, or God can't help me (that one is my favorite since God can do anything). I've had people all along keep agreeing with those statements. They'll quote "let not the double minded man think he should receive anything from the Lord", or "You must believe that He is and that He is a… Continue

Some were speaking of this in a discussion and it prompted me to post this. This is a testimony of a young man I have attended church with for years. He was saved just months before I was and his testimony always leaves me in tears...good tears, not bad. For anyone who has been praying for someone, either with an addiction or for any other reason, this may give you hope in what might seem years of unanswered prayers.…

I got into this debate with some self proclaimed atheists trolling a Christian Facebook page. They go on and on about all this scientific evidence of evolution.
I took some pictures yesterday and I'm just trying to figure out who has the greater faith...us or them? How can one see this detail, intricacy, design, the shadows and light, and believe a random explosion caused it? So who then created the explosion that caused all these various planet types, life forms and… Continue

For nearly 4 years now, with all I've gone through, I've heard many say, you're being sanctified, or people who say "I've been saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost". But that's about as far as it gets. So you ask, what does sanctify mean? And they will say, it means God's changing you. Still clueless? So was I. But it goes something like this....
Four years ago, if I had a bad hair day, I got mad. I literally would throw my brush across the room, scream or… Continue

I had sent this to someone struggling with negative thinking about themself and wanted to share this with all.
I know you've heard the term "you are what you eat". Well God says we're what we speak...out of the abundance of the mouth comes blessings and cursings. You keep speaking cursings over yourself. Don't continue to say "I'm not saved", "I'm not worthy", "God must hate me", etc. We seem to want give up on even wanting to try and believe God will help us to do… Continue
