Yesterday was Sunday and I thought: "I don't really need to go to church . . . I'll just 'keep the Sabboth' at home." Then I remembered that so many places in the New Testament talk about us Christians as being the church, and the church-this-and-that. I think that whenever I have a thought that seems not quite to be in accord with my Christ-mind, maybe I should consider if that thought was influenced by the 'powers in the air'. God, I am not able . . . Christ is Lord

With respect to the broken relationship between my daughter and myself, I found some words that spoke to my soul this morning. It is from: The Unchained Soul by Calvin Miller. Here it is:"Two sentences must remain forever linked: God, I am not able; and Christ is Lord. How often I have seen these sentences of our insufficiency and his all-sufficiency follow hard upon the other." I confess that this is TRUE and Christ is Lord, the great Healer of all that is broken. I'll let the Lord fix this…

let go and let God

Hello, my Christian friends, out there - that I have yet to meet. This is a time of great adversity for me. I am really 'stuck' in self-absorption and fear. My daughter has unforgiveness in her heart to the point that she doesn't want me to see my 4.5 year old grandson. What is most comforting at this time is that I join in compassion for all the mothers and grandmothers who have seemingly lost a reciprocal love connection with the people we love the most. My balm is to 'let go and let God'.
