Honestly, please, how can I possibly believe in god?

Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Believe; To credit upon the authority or testimony of another; to be persuaded of the truth of something upon the declaration of another, or upon evidence furnished by reasons, arguments, and deductions of the mind, or by other circumstances, than personal knowledge. When we believe upon the authority of another, we always put confidence in his veracity. “But without faith it is impossible to… Continue

Christmas and a problem

Quite a few people here will go through Christmas without thier significant others. Certainly this will cause pain and anxiety, You may feel totally empty especially if you are by yourself. There is just no easy solution to loneliness and feeling discarded, rejected and defeated. Emotional pain is worse than anyone who has been through it can explain. We also have to recognize that others may have serious health issues and if they are left alone, that has to speak of misery as well as… Continue

As New Year enters... we can see all people very joyful, excited welcoming January 1...preparing foods, reunion with the whole family... and doing what we're usually doing in celebrating new year eve's. Oh how I love seeing beautiful fireworks in the sky as early as 10pm and lasted at about 1am...but i don't like firecrackers (those illegal explosive one huh... hehhehheehe But after, Christmas and New Year ... do we still have the joy that we have in that season?

If we will see…

This Thing Called Love

This is a study of Gods Word concerning the source; importance; meaning; and application of the teachings about Love.

The verses from Mat 22:34-40 and the first three verses of I Cor 13 (together) had been on my mind for some time before I attempted to prepare this study. It seemed like the Lord would not let me rest with the relevance of this subject in relation to the teachings of the church.

While you will find many loving churches that teach subjects relating to love,… Continue

to hedge a bet

Have you ever hedged a bet before? To minimize a loss, you bet on the flip side, to cover that possible loss. You may protect yourself from loss, but you also lessen the gain. You may not be gambling however, I wounder how often we do this with, Father God. We Pray to the Lord, and release Faith yet, we will begin to do things (just in case) to help things along. There are the obvious one such as, wanting peace, or relief from…

"Jesus Choice should be our Choice"

“Jesus Choice should be our Choice”

Mat 27:34 They gave him wine to drink mingled with gall. And, after tasting it, he was unwilling to drink.

What an amazing scripture, Jesus beaten, bloodied, slapped, shamed, and His dignity removed, still chose for our sakes, not to hold us accountable in bitterness and unforgiveness for our sins. If you call yourself a Christian and live the life, then you also have been brutalized in one fashion or another, by so called well meaning… Continue

LIFE LESSSONS LEARNED FROM A OLD WRESTLER

Life Lessons Learned From a Wounded Wrestler

Genesis 32:22-32:32

INTRODUCTION:

Allow me to set the stage for you. Jacob had not seen his brother, Esau, in a long time and he was very apprehensive about their meeting. You see, many years earlier Jacob tricked his brother out of his birthright and stole his blessing. Because of this Esau was planning to kill Jacob. Jacob’s mother found out about Esau’s plan and she… Continue

Still struggling, Be encourage!

Still struggling with sin? welcome to the club! Of the war of the flesh and the spirit. As the word of God says in Galatians 5:17-Our ·sinful self [sinful nature;T flesh] ·wants [desires] what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit ·wants [desires] what is against our ·sinful self…

YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN

“You Must Be Born Again”

John 3:1-13

Good morning and welcome to “Old Fashioned Sunday” here at First Baptist Church. Our special guest who was scheduled to speak had an emergency situation arise at his church and he could not be with us this morning. I don’t think it an accident that we come to the subject “You Must Be Born Again” in our study of the book of John. There is no message that is more “old fashioned” yet more relevant to our day.

What would you say if I were… Continue

Do not fool yourself.

Scriptural Readings:

Ephesians 5:15-18, Psalms 14:1, I Timothy 4:1-2

I Peter 1:16.

Believing is essential for everyone. Believe it or not, deciding is the most time-consuming part of our lives. We base our decisions on what is true. It is challenging for us to trust specific things easily. It is okay to disagree with what our eyes have seen, but not everyone. Life is loaded and packed…

Hope

Hope
I read my friend’s post on facebook… It was a picture of a beautiful cottage home decorated with an array of gardens and flowers in all sorts of textures and colour.  In my imagination I could smell the flowers and the fresh air. There’s a stream that runs through this beautiful garden with a paddle boat. The homes were quaint and pretty with thatch…

The Heart Cry

"Is it true the heart doth cry".

"I hope it is" said dry eye.

"I often hear it's desperate plea",

was the response from bended knee.

Again. the mind surprised by this,

"what cause has brought such amiss".

And then the lips said "hold on there, …

Do You Have Peace?

Do You Have Peace? Matthew 5.9

Peace, peacemaking, peacekeeping. We have talked all around it, but now I must ask you a question:

Do you have inner peace?

In all honesty, I can say that for the most part, I have peace~

~in my heart ~in my soul ~in my mind ~and usually in my body.

Yesterday, my peace was tested, so I can say that it is so. I had a Rudyard Kipling moment … several of them actually! “If you can keep your head when all about you are losing…
