All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

“Jesus Choice should be our Choice”

Mat 27:34 They gave him wine to drink mingled with gall. And, after tasting it, he was unwilling to drink.

What an amazing scripture, Jesus beaten, bloodied, slapped, shamed, and His dignity removed, still chose for our sakes, not to hold us accountable in bitterness and unforgiveness for our sins. If you call yourself a Christian and live the life, then you also have been brutalized in one fashion or another, by so called well meaning self proclaimed Christians. These are hurts that over time add up, forming a seed of unforgiveness and bitterness, that we either hide from or deny its existence. Oh no, that’s not me, I know they didn’t mean it all those times and times again that they hurt me. In that statement, you may be very correct, regarding their intent, but the Word of God is pure and sure; Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I rather like that question, who can know it, we as good Christians are so prideful in areas of our lives, that even when God takes the time to show us, the hurtful and wicked ways of our heart, we deny that that is possible. Just the other day, had to come face to face with my heart and God at the same time, there was a hurt in me that got flared up, all because of pride. Something was spoken that God wanted spoken that I would come to realization, there was a hurt in me that had not been properly handled. I had pondered over the incidences that occurred, I believed with everything inside of me, I had examined myself and motives, even asked God to take the burden away, that bitterness would not enter in, leading to unforgiveness; but there it was, I drank of the gall from the previous action, but didn’t refuse the rest of the cup.
How easy is it for a real Christian to be deluded into thinking, they’re living their whole life in grace and faith by the Word of God. How easy is it for a real Christian, to miss the mark, all because they hadn’t yet learned an important lesson, a lesson that would light a dark area of their life, thus setting them free. Act 8:23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. It wasn’t any man or woman I know of that taught this lesson, it was the work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God alone in His truth, that showed me on resurrection Sunday of all days also. Psa 141:4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
Above all things, it is my fervent heart’s desire to please my Father in heaven, so I’ve learned, I cannot eat from another man’s tables, but must eat at the table my Father sets before me. One of my favorite verse is; Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
If I don’t put my trust in God, then where can I turn and to whom do I turn, when I need direction? As I said earlier, this lesson came from no man or woman, but straight up from God. Where would I be, if I didn’t put my trust in Him alone to show me, teach me, and correct me in all areas of this walk with the Lord?
In one of my earlier teachings, I compared two verses in order to show any disobedience is blasphemy; Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
To blaspheme is not only the Greek definition, it also includes the old Hebraic definition as well. One more time, God shed light in me, showed me truth of His Word, then set me free.
What a wonderful God, what an awesome Spirit, what a liberating truth, what a loving Father, Who would take time with me, so the desires of my heart are fulfilled!

Praise God!
