She is Quite Some Lady!!

(Another from the achives... study in Proverbs...)

Wisdom, that is!! Proverbs depicts Wisdom as being a lady, compared to the harlot called Folly.

Here are her credentials:

  • Her companion is Understanding, and they both call out to the simple and the foolish ones.
  • What she says is excellent, right, true and just, and to those who understand it is VERY plain, and to those who find knowledge it is right.
  • You may have the choicest of gold and…

Laughter!!!

When was the last time you had a real good laugh? Was it because some one told you a good joke? Was it because of a comedy movie, or was it a comedian you saw on television? Was it something your three year old kid did?

It has been proven by doctors and psychologists that a good dose of laughter a day helps you stay healthy. Somehow laughter helps you release some of the tension of a stressful day, and it also keeps you in a positive attitude.

It’s 2:17am, and I’m laughing at the fact… Continue

Aging

Remember when you were 14 years old and wished you were 16, so that you could get your permit to drive! How about when you were 18 and couldn’t wait till you turned 21. Then all of a sudden, the years started going so fast that you wished that you could slow them down.

It’s so amazing how this affects a lot of people. The young want to get old, and the old want to be young again. This might sound crazy to you but it is true! Try telling a young kid that he/she looks young, you’ll offend… Continue

WISDOM is all about CHOICES!!

(More from my Proverbs archives...)

Wisdom is the knowledge and ability to make the RIGHT choices at the RIGHT time.

That's what I read in my Vines Bible Dictionary. (Not exactly in those words, but those were the thoughts.)

And as I see it, the whole book of Proverbs IS a description of what wisdom is. It shows us how to make those right choices. It's about how to direct this free will that God has given us. If we didn't have a free will, we wouldn't… Continue

The Truth and Facing the Truth

The Truth

and

Facing the Truth

The truth is God's Words; Jesus said "God's Word is Truth"; and jesus sid "The Word that I speak to you are Truth". Also Jesus Christ is the Truth. The truth is not the lie; and the truth is no lie. The bible tells us that God cannot lie and it tells us that the devil is the father of lies. the bible also talks about people who only appear to be in sheep's' clothing, but inside they are ravenous wolves; in other words, these kinds of people… Continue

So, What is Wisdom?

(More from the achives. I find reading something enough, we eventually "get it"!!)

Wisdom!! That's what Proverbs is on about. And if you want to be wise, just read it and do what it says... sounds simple!

And King Solomon, who wrote most of the Proverbs, was so renowned for his amazing wisdom that people would travel hundreds and thousands of miles to hear him.

So really, what IS Wisdom? And what did Solomon have that others didn't?

Well,… Continue

Defacto Relationships (living together and not married)

Im posting this because i think it may help people who are in a De-facto Relationship (living together not married).

As one who is in a De-facto relationship myself and we have children I think we must look at all the Bible says about the matter (and not our own man made opinions) after all it is the Law.

First lets look at what the Law says:-

1 Corinthians 7

9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

(this… Continue

Acknowledging God's Goodness......

Acknowledging God’s Goodness!!!!….

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.--Proverbs 3:5-7 (Amplified…

What It Really Means to Be Whipped

What It Means To Really Be Whipped

The Bible say that "God chastises those whom he loves. That means that he whips us so that we will be obedient to him. He does this because he loves us and because we belong to only him. the whipping of the Lord is the disciplining of the Lord. Everybody knows that the devil is a lyer; the devil comes along there and says that he whipped you; no he doesn't what he does is that he commits evil against you and calls it a whipping.

The Bit in the Middle!!

(Another one from my archives! Back in 2007, I was doing a study in Proverbs. This was from chapter 2. I thought it seemed to fit so well in the middle of the James study. And re-reading these posts has been good for me. Sometimes we can forget the things we've learned before.)

Creamed biscuit, pearl oyster, walnut, wheat kernel, tarnished silver, full memory stick, birthday present…

It's The Fruits of The Holy Spirit of God

It's The Fruits of The Spirit of God

I am a straight heterosexual Christian Soldier. I feel it is my calling to tell people that we straight heterosexual men only do what is normal; a lot of men practice homosexuality or say that they are bisexual which is the same thing as saying that they are homosexuals; that is not the norm. The Bible says that practice is contrary to nature. But on the other hand, what is normal for a non-believer might be normal for him; but what God says… Continue

"We are not responsible for the past but we are responsible for remembering"

Greetings,

Have you read stories about the Holocaust? As a Christian it bothers me that Christians did not helped Jews during the Holocaust… or the Gypsies… or many other groups…

Some people do not even believe that Holocaust really happened during Hitler’s World War II…

I want to share with everyone reading my message an article I read online today at Priest uncovering…

Something Good out of Nothing

Something Good Out of Nothing

Gen 1:1-31

Many times through out this first chapter in Genesis we can read “God said, and it was so” or “God saw it was good.”. However, in verse 31 it says “very good”.Very - in high degree, extremely, truly, absolutely, precise.

Good - having desirable qualities, not spoiled, superior, of high quality, enjoyable.

So we can determine from verse 2 to verse 31 that God took the earth that was without form and void and… Continue

ONCE UPON A TIME

ONCE UPON A TIME

(A remarkable story, by Lachlan MacKenzie)

During the height of his fame as a Highland evangelist, Lachlan MacKenzie was asked to visit Aberdeen, and to preach in the Old Parish Church. At the evening service the church was filled to its utmost capacity, and there was eager anticipation on the part of the worshipers. When Mr. MacKenzie ascended the pulpit, a giggle went through the congregation when they beheld a man wearing a rough homespun suit,… Continue

Detangling Kingdom Entrepreneurs

We are supposed to be in the world, not woven into the societal fabric of the world. Find out how to detangle yourself from your marketplace works.

As the marketplace ministry movement gains momentum in the Body of Christ, a new buzzword is emerging to describe business owners who are sent out into Corporate World with the Gospel message: apostolic entrepreneur.

It’s not a new notion. Jesus was a carpenter. Paul was a tentmaker. Peter was a fisherman. Indeed, apostolic… Continue

Prophets and Obama’s Stimulus Plan

BY JONAS CLARK

A personal letter from the publisher of The Voice, Jonas Clark:

I feel sick to my stomach today. The direction our country is taking toward socialism, corruption in government and political pork offered as an economic stimulus plan is simply pathetic.

I can understand the behavior of the sinner but the thing that gets me is the lack of Christian leaders speaking out against this nonsense. Maybe being salt, light and a city set on a hill is just too… Continue

Gods Original Intent

In the beginning, we know that God created Adam in His own image, in His likeness and with His nature (Genesis 1:26). The Word says that “God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed life (not air) into his nostrils and man became a living soul with purpose – to fellowship with God and have dominion over this Earth (Genesis 2:7; 1:26).

In the original creation Adam was perfect. He lived out of his spirit. He communed with God out of his spirit. He was connected to God… Continue

I Live According to What The Words of God Tell Me, No Ifs, Stills, Maybes, or Nothing

I Live According to What The Words of God Tell Me; No Ifs, Stills, Maybes, or Nothing Elses

I am a Christian; that means I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, a follower of Jesus, one of Jesus' branches, one of Jesus sheep; it means I am a Saint, it means that I am not perfect, but I strive to be perfectly holy, perfectly righteous.

I put most of my emphasis on being a disciple of Jesus; he said "go into all the world and make disciples of all the people of the nations,… Continue
