Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

"Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation."

Luke 22:46

When is the Christian most liable to sleep? Is it not when his temporal circumstances are prosperous? Have you not found it so? When you…

Will Ye Also Go Away?

"Will ye also go away?"

John 6:67

Many have forsaken Christ, and have walked no more with him; but what reason have you to make a change? Has there been any reason for it in the past? Has not Jesus proved himself all-sufficient? He appeals to you this…

Poem: Another Season of Spring

Another season of Spring is here

and again I’m one with the shiny rake.

Will this new tool survive the year,

before in my hand, it eventually breaks?

These annual attempts of mastering physics

of “leaf dynamics”, during the removal of leaves,

is usually a pleasant task of physical joy,

since my searching spirit is at rest and ease.

However, the annoyance of my insect entourage

of gnats, no-see-ums, mosquitoes and black flies

distracts…

Poem: Called to Worship (VII)

It’s the dawning of a new day

and my heart can’t help but sing;

Your grace and tender mercies flow

from the eternal realm of my King.

Shine the brightness of Your Light,

deep into the blackness of my soul;

direct my steps away from sin’s abyss

with Your standard of self-control.

Illuminate my spirit with the radiance

of Truth, that’s found within Your Word.

Continue to educate and edify me daily

with messages that were previously…

Poem: Armor of God

Clothe yourself in the full armor of God

and be able to withstand the Devil’s schemes;

know that he’s only the father of lies,

looking to destroy your earthly dreams.

Cover yourself with Christ’s Breastplate

of Righteousness and protect your torn heart;

your essence has been purchased for His Kingdom,

meaning that you’re meant… to be set apart.

Gird your waist with the Belt of Truth

and stand firm with integrity and honesty;

don’t…

HIS COMING WILL BE A GREAT CELEBRATION

HIS COMING WILL BE  A GREAT CELEBRATION

by David Wilkerson

For us who make up the bride, there must be no fear when He appears. “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:13).

Never forget that He will not surprise those who expect Him, who are “looking for and…

Take heed: Dreams in the Night

Take heed: Dreams in the Night. Matthew 1 -2

Good Day.

I invite you to pray with me a moment, or like Moses, take off your sandals, because we are standing on holy ground. ‘Lord God, I pray that you would illumine our hearts and minds; free them up to receive your words—not mine, but yours. Help us not consider these thoughts while half asleep or lackadaisically for they are too important—they are life changing, revolutionary and radical, and…

Going Home.

Going Home. Matthew 2.19-23

Being able to picture loved ones in their homes—especially when they are far from us—is not just informative, but reassuring and even heart-warming. Several weeks ago, I visited Dylan, who is going to college in Flagstaff, Arizona, about 500 miles from home. Seeing the campus, his apartment, the mountainous surroundings, and even scouting about the town of friendly people enables me to picture him, and see him in my mind’s…

Prayer’s First Priority

Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name.” (Matthew 6:9)

In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches that the first priority in praying is to ask that our heavenly Father’s Name be hallowed.

Notice that this is a petition or a…

Grow Up Into Him In All Things

"Grow up into Him in all things."

Ephesians 4:15

Many Christians remain stunted and dwarfed in spiritual things, so as to present the same appearance year after year. No up-springing of advanced and refined…

Get up. Go!

Get up. Go! Matthew 2.13-15

Joseph had such tremendous responsibility as the protector of the Savior baby and his beloved wife, Mary, mother of Jesus. Once again, God speaks to Joseph in a dream about the parenting of the Most High.

“After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said. “Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going…

New Angels in the Church

New Angels in the Church

In recent years, there has been an ever increasing interest in Angels, especially among church people. More and more you see references to angels in Christian book stores, on greeting cards, bumper stickers and referenced in christian books and magazines.

Along the way, Christians are foolishly buying into a new-ager concept that Angels are teachers and care-givers for humanity. Some now believe we should even pray to angels. Others…

Babes In Christ

"Babes in Christ."

1 Corinthians 3:1

Are you mourning, believer, because you are so weak in the divine life: because your faith is so little, your love so feeble? Cheer up, for you have cause for gratitude. Remember that in some things you are equal to the…

Poem: Comfort Zone

O my Lord, long ago I accepted the idea

of being open and accepting of change.

My resistance was ultimately futile, when…

Salvation caused my life to be rearranged.

For my perspective was spiritually altered

and my heart was subtly humbled by You;

when ready, I sought after Your Kingdom,

knowing that I would remain in Your view.

Know that there can be joy in serving others,

which is complemented with learning opportunities;

depths of…

Poem: Come, See This Man

It started out, as an ordinary day,

with a daily trip… to the local well;

without much expectation, I met a Man

from a small town, located in Israel.

Come, see this Man…

Well, I must admit, He was the first

to observe me as a Child of Abraham;

knocking down my personal defenses

was Christ, the Son of the Great I Am.

Come, see this Man…

He spoke with both grace and intimacy,

and soon I was fully revealed before Him;

He…

Poem: Climate for Miracles

Never doubt the Love of God and His promises;

for with Jehovah, all things are eternally possible.

Nothing is beyond the grasp of His hand, since He is…

Creator of the Universe and Master of the impossible.

Therefore, chose to believe in heavenly miracles

and honestly respect His “Law of Agreement”.

Discard spiritual doubts and confess your sin;

enlarge your faith and renew your commitment.

Speak continually against the mounting issues of…
