(Another one from my archives! Back in 2007, I was doing a study in Proverbs. This was from chapter 2. I thought it seemed to fit so well in the middle of the James study. And re-reading these posts has been good for me. Sometimes we can forget the things we've learned before.)

It's The Fruits of The Spirit of God
I am a straight heterosexual Christian Soldier. I feel it is my calling to tell people that we straight heterosexual men only do what is normal; a lot of men practice homosexuality or say that they are bisexual which is the same thing as saying that they are homosexuals; that is not the norm. The Bible says that practice is contrary to nature. But on the other hand, what is normal for a non-believer might be normal for him; but what God says…

Greetings,
Have you read stories about the Holocaust? As a Christian it bothers me that Christians did not helped Jews during the Holocaust… or the Gypsies… or many other groups…
Some people do not even believe that Holocaust really happened during Hitler’s World War II…
I want to share with everyone reading my message an article I read online today at Priest uncovering… Continue

Something Good Out of Nothing
Gen 1:1-31
Many times through out this first chapter in Genesis we can read “God said, and it was so” or “God saw it was good.”. However, in verse 31 it says “very good”.Very - in high degree, extremely, truly, absolutely, precise.
Good - having desirable qualities, not spoiled, superior, of high quality, enjoyable.
So we can determine from verse 2 to verse 31 that God took the earth that was without form and void and…

ONCE UPON A TIME
(A remarkable story, by Lachlan MacKenzie)
During the height of his fame as a Highland evangelist, Lachlan MacKenzie was asked to visit Aberdeen, and to preach in the Old Parish Church. At the evening service the church was filled to its utmost capacity, and there was eager anticipation on the part of the worshipers. When Mr. MacKenzie ascended the pulpit, a giggle went through the congregation when they beheld a man wearing a rough homespun suit,…

We are supposed to be in the world, not woven into the societal fabric of the world. Find out how to detangle yourself from your marketplace works.
As the marketplace ministry movement gains momentum in the Body of Christ, a new buzzword is emerging to describe business owners who are sent out into Corporate World with the Gospel message: apostolic entrepreneur.
It’s not a new notion. Jesus was a carpenter. Paul was a tentmaker. Peter was a fisherman. Indeed, apostolic…

BY JONAS CLARK
A personal letter from the publisher of The Voice, Jonas Clark:
I feel sick to my stomach today. The direction our country is taking toward socialism, corruption in government and political pork offered as an economic stimulus plan is simply pathetic.
I can understand the behavior of the sinner but the thing that gets me is the lack of Christian leaders speaking out against this nonsense. Maybe being salt, light and a city set on a hill is just too…

In the beginning, we know that God created Adam in His own image, in His likeness and with His nature (Genesis 1:26). The Word says that “God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed life (not air) into his nostrils and man became a living soul with purpose – to fellowship with God and have dominion over this Earth (Genesis 2:7; 1:26).
In the original creation Adam was perfect. He lived out of his spirit. He communed with God out of his spirit. He was connected to God…

I Live According to What The Words of God Tell Me; No Ifs, Stills, Maybes, or Nothing Elses
I am a Christian; that means I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, a follower of Jesus, one of Jesus' branches, one of Jesus sheep; it means I am a Saint, it means that I am not perfect, but I strive to be perfectly holy, perfectly righteous.
I put most of my emphasis on being a disciple of Jesus; he said "go into all the world and make disciples of all the people of the nations,…

This is only my personal observation: I believe that at least 60 percent of what we as individuals KNOW - is merely what someone else TOLD us.
That leaves a lot to be questioned! Some things we have investigated and found answers that we were willing to accept as truth. Then there are the things that we have been taught and then experienced for ourselves. For me that would be the Grace and Mercy of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Then…

(Whoa!! This one’s a biggen!! I dug into my archives and found this entry that I made back in June07. I find it good to that, because it is so easy to forget the lessons I learned, and end up asking the same questions again. So here it is, as I see it:)
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7, ESV)
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight." (Proverbs 9:10,… Continue

Here's where I'm up to in James 3... (I'm using the New Living Translation this time.)
** WHAT IS WISDOM? **
Notice the two types of wisdom.
~~ Firstly, there is the
worldly wisdom, which James says is NOT God's kind of wisdom. And note the seven characteristics in the bold print...
"If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. (NKJ says… Continue

I'm the girl with sad eyes and plastic smile on my face.
If you you ask me how I'm doing I'll say, I'm fine and laugh softly. Just to make your questions go away.
I'm the girl who cried and screamed for someone to care, until I finally lost my voice.....
Years and Years, I'm Fine, I'm Fine, I'm Fine......
Just don't open that box in the corner where I put that girl... she's not!

Rabbit Hole
Can't I get anything right?
Open my mouth nonsense flows
Broken glass looks back at me
Step off the cliff
No safety net
Falling, falling down the rabbit hole
Crazy mind out of control
Bruise my ego
Break my heart
Emptiness surrounds me
No end
No start
Bleakness, I can not see
Hot painful tears flow thru…

I have to say that I have been blessed with many girlfriends. ( I know that sounds old fashioned) I have been blessed and seen so many of them blessed and cursed. I am writing this because of the ones that I have seen cursed. I am broken hearted, my tears for them over flow, my soul aches with my inablitly to change their paths they have chosen. Time has opened my eyes to recognize the signs of verbal and physical abuse early in my life. So I can see it in their's.
The men that tell them…

Bingo!! I've found it!!
I've just discovered the key to the perfect man!!
I'm studying James 3, and in
a previous post, I was musing over the meaning of verse 2.
"For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body." And in the verses that follow, James pointed out that NO ONE is able to tame the…

I've been broken and bitter more times than I can count! Today I praise God for everything that I've gone through! Today I see myself as being 'raised to praise Him'! At one point I questioned the Lord... "Father, You said that You wouldn't put no more on me than I could bear. Do You know this is still me"? Obviously He knew, 'cause Praise the Lord, I'm still here! He knew that He would be able to bring me through yet again! I had given up long before and resigned myself to living and dying in…

Marriage Prayer
"Thank you Lord for teaching us how to make You the center of our marriage. Humble us to grow beyond our ego, pride and past hurts. Help us to establish and grow the love Christ in us to show each other kindness, trust, patience, forgiveness and divine love. Help me Lord to honor the qualities of my mate. Teach me how to pray for my spouse.
Empower me with courage to speak up for anything out of order in our relationship. Soften my tongue and heart…
