All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Over the past few months, a friend and I have been doing a study in James. We got to the end of chapter 3, which is about wisdom and the difference between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom.

But our study has been interrupted, because we've started on John's gospel in "Jesus Discovery", which has been a blessing.

Anyhow, this morning, I in my devotions I wanted to get back to the thoughts about wisdom, and about how one can become wise. Also, I need something different to read for my personal time with the Lord. Then, it clicked!! Read Proverbs!! As it works out, there are 31 chapters in Proverbs, and there are 30 or 31 days in a month (except for this month). So, I've figured, why not read a chapter a day?

Whatever the date is, that is the chapter I read. Today I read chapter 15, only to discover it is Monday, the 16th here. Well, then I read 16 too.

And each day, I will pick out a verse, and write it down. Today's is 15:24, which says:

"The way of life winds upward for the wise, that he may turn away from hell below." (NKJ)

I've added Slide to my applications where I will add a Proverb a Day!!

I hope this has been a help to someone, and perhaps you might like to take on this idea for your daily reading. If so, I pray ... well I KNOW ... that you'll be bless!!

Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich.

I like this one! It means that GOD is in control of the world's affairs, not the political leaders.
