Disciplining children of grade school age has its unique challenges and rewards. While children this age are better able to articulate their feelings and demonstrate self-control, disciplining big kids can still require some handling of tantrums and tears.
When a big kid has the occasional meltdown, try to be mindful of the importance of teaching respect when disciplining children. Even if your child is pushing your…

Be on the lookout for those who who come as sheep, yet they are not lamb but wolves. They may not all start the same way, but they do end the same. Some may come as weak and in need of help, others may offer the solution you have been waiting for. But it ends the same way, their goal is to rob you of what they can. It may be money, it may be fellowship, or it could be peace. Some act as sheperds, in John 10:12…

A FEW GOOD MEN -
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly CONTEND THE FAITH which was once delivered unto the saints." (Jude 1:3)
--The world has been infected with satan's lies long enough. Can we not see that he took Jesus' love for the world and…

“If only” two simple words but, w/ them a very great power. A power in which we can gain wisdom, or the power that an anchor has on a ship. I think also, “if only” allows us the protection not to be hurt again. “I would be able to do that, “if only...”
One definition of “if only” is: an… Continue

Today has just not been my day. It appears I'm either being tested or the enemy is trying to get me to stay where I have been all this time which is in sin! I have to be very honest that at times today I have felt like giving up and just stay true to what I've always been. Doesn't mean I was happier but it was just easier.
I'd like to share a little secret about myself. I DESPISE (yes I meant to write that in caps) dealing with the public; whether it be at the job, riding the subway…

The power of your thoughts - Where many strongholds begin
The enemy loves to put thoughts into the believer's mind. Those thoughts (if meditated on), produce strongholds, which produces feelings, which lands you into bondage... all because you listened to the devil more then your heavenly Father! I am going to use a common stronghold here in this teaching as an example... an incorrect perception of who you are in Christ. There are…

MUST WE CONTINUE WITH THE STATE OF SEXUAL PERVERSION?
The reason why the world is at a state it is currently at, which is a moral decline all time low, is because of acts such as these which are becoming a public norm in most cities. Pornography is a sin, and so is strip teasing. In the spiritual world, demons live inside the watchers of these social perversions, as they live and watch through their eyes for enjoyment, building themselves greater in numbers within the sick victim…

You may seek earthly power and fame,
the world might be impressed by your great name,
soon the glories of this life will all be past,
but only what you do for Christ will last.
Only what you do for Him will be counted at the end;
Only what you do for Christ will last.

Psalm 1:3.
He [the one who delights in and meditates upon the Law of the Lord] is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
After we repent (confess and turn from) our sins, and believe upon Jesus Christ and the work that He has done for us on the cross, our life is in Christ and we are identified with Him and His righteousness, thereby setting us free from guilt and…

Justified is another powerful word used in the Bible to describe the forgiveness of our sins and restoration of our relationship with God. my favorite verses in the Bible!
Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
If we take the word justified in this verse, and look it up... we are given the Greek word dikaioo, which means, "to render (that is, show or regard as) just or innocent: - free, justify (-ier), be…

First, we need to understand that the forgiveness of our sins is considered a GIFT... this means that we cannot deserve it or earn it in any way, but we must receive this gift.
Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Its through faith in Christ Jesus, we can obtain forgiveness of our sins through the blood that He shed for us: Galatians 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of…

In the Old Testament, the priests would sacrifice lambs, goats, etc. to cover the people's sins. However, this sacrifice was not significant to remove the stain of sin. But since Christ shed His blood, our sin can be REMOVED from our account! In Hebrews 10, it paints us this picture very clearly.
Hebrews 10:1-22, "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make…

This is a powerful and liberating teaching that we must understand in order to experience true freedom from guilt and shame of our past. It is absolutely essential for us to realize the forgiving power of the Blood of Jesus! Nothing we can do will ever add to or take away from the work that Christ did on the cross. As the song sings, "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus!"
I think one of the reasons why it is so hard to grasp the true forgiving power…

While watching Dr. Charles Stanley yesterday morning he spoke of a very important source for prayer that will "impact" our lives. Here it is right out God's word for us The Bible. Our prayer for others and for ourselves would truly be transformed if we intentionally prayed these words everyday! So I vow from this day forward I will include this specific prayer with my daily prayer for all of the family, friends those I know and don't know. Becasuse God is…

HOW MUCH TIME YOU THINK YOU GOT?
Ecclesiastes 9:12 (New American Standard Bible)
12 Moreover, man does not know his time: like fish caught in a treacherous net and birds trapped in a snare, so the sons of men are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.
...
