All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

If only” two simple words but, w/ them a very great power. A power in which we can gain wisdom, or the power that an anchor has on a ship. I think also, “if only” allows us the protection not to be hurt again. “I would be able to do that, “if only...”
One definition of “if only” is: an expression used to introduce a wish, esp one felt to be unrealizable. It can explain or justify what we do or not do. If we live in “if only” as a reason why, we can not do something, we will not grow. There are reasons why we are unable to do things. We all have limitation yet, our God is limitless.
Eph 3:20 Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.
If only “and faith can be at war w/ each other. As we all learn and grow in the Lord, the knowledge that we can do all things...The understanding that Holy Spirit wants only to comfort and edify us, and always to the Glory of Jesus. Phil 4:13 I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.
2 Cor 12:9 But he told me: "My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So I will brag even more about my weaknesses in order that Christ's power will live in me.
Eph 3:16 I'm asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit.
Col 1:11 We ask him to strengthen you by his glorious might with all the power you need to patiently endure everything with joy.
In knowing these things, does that knowledge just make all of our problems vanish ?
Of course not, recognizing these things, making them a part of who we are, gradually
transforms the ingredients of “if only” inert. We may still have the knowledge,
of the events that at one time were explosive. The power of the Word strips those
things, of their uncontrollable properties. Making things that at one time were to dangerous to handle, into elements that we can easily handle.

Isaiah 48:18 If only you had listened to my commands! Your peace would be like a river [that never runs dry]. Your righteousness would be like waves on the sea.
Through Isaiah God tell us, we can learn from “if only.” The choice is our to make, we
can stay in the thinking, “if only” and not grow. Or learn the wisdom, offered from events
that take place in our lives

It is like "what if's" and "what might have beens". When we are faced with decisions we CAN spend so much time wieghing " well, what if this and what if that". That we end up completely missing an opportunity or a door God has opened up for us. THEN once we realize the door has closed we say "if only I had stepped through that door and trusted God". Not to mention the opportunity to grow. Lord bless you in all you do and all you are in jesus name , my friend and brother
