Poem: New Age Spirituality

Why settle for a counterfeit

when you can have the genuine thing?

For the purpose of "new age" spirituality

is replacing God with the Human Being.

Working from a false assumption

that Man is essentially good,

will lead us down destruction's path

as History has taught us, as it would.

The fight for supremacy

of our human souls

is still being waged by the Devil

under his planetary control.

Humanism has its agenda

that's…

When Satan Tempts Me

"Before the Throne of God"

When Satan tempts me to despair,

and tells me of the guilt within,

upward I look and see Him there

who made an end to all my sin.

Because the sinless Savior died,

my sinful soul is counted free;

For God, the Just, is satisfied

to look on Him and pardon…

THREE TYPES OF MEN MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE

THE THREE TYPES OF MEN MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE

IN Romans 8: 1-26 we read a little of these three men – the natural man, the carnal man and the spiritual man.  We will look at each of them briefly.

The Natural Man – all men born in this world are sinners.  “All have sinned & come short of the glory of God”  Roman 3:…

THE DUMB PREACHER

THE DUMB PREACHER

Many preachers are giving up the old ideas about the fall and total depravity of man.  People are not often plainly told now that they are guilty sinners before a holy God.  The sermons of our forefathers – who used to press this so constantly upon their hearers – are looked upon in many quarters as relics

of the dark ages, only fit for the old curiosity shop.

There is however, one preacher left of…

CONSIDER JUDAS ISCHARIOT'S FALL

CONSIDER JUDAS ISCARIOT’S FALL

Judas was one of the 12 disciples that Jesus Christ chose to be His followers.

Judas believed that Jesus was the Messiah and gave up all to follow Jesus.  He was learning and being influenced by the Master!  All the disciples thought that Jesus came to deliver them from the Roman Government and He will set up His own kingdom and they wanted to be part of His governing body.  James and John…

On Forgiveness . . . only God. James 2.24-26

James points to a prostitute to make his point.  In the midst of his discussion about faith and works, and to corroborate his point that the authentic Christian has some sort of ‘works’ in his life, he uses Rahab as his illustration.  Take a look:

Abraham believed God, and it was credited to…

Bad daddy

Jonathan was da son of a wicked king Saul, his friend is David who was promised by God 2 succeed Saul. If he had killed his dad he cud hav bcome da King's prime minister, or if he had killed His friend he could have succeeded as da King. He chose to save his friend, also to be with his dad in the war which costed his life. As children of God we should not look to take revenge on our bad daddy's, instead help them in their old age.

Mercy encompasses Forgiveness. (segue from James 2.24-26)

Mercy encompasses forgiveness. Segue from James 2.24-26

In the preceding briefing, I commented that God is mercificul… and mercy encompasses forgiveness.  That set me to thinking; you know, forgiveness is immense.  It breaks down walls, frees hearts, mends countries, restores…

Now is the Time

This is to the “one” I do not know your name. Nor do I know how many there are. What I do know is this. God would have you know, “now!” You have been told to do something! Why, have you put it off? If you have said, “God I need a sign.” Well, this is it, this is the sign you have said you needed. Stop putting off what you have been told to do. Now is the time.

Your Defining Moment. James 2.24-26

Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging…

I was brought up to follow Christ...

Anyone who has served as a substitute teacher or babysitter or interim manager or even guest preacher knows the challenge of stepping into a role of authority over people who aren't familiar with you. It's possible they will hear your message or lesson plan with anticipatory ears, awakened from their usual routine. More likely, though, will be complaints: "Our teacher doesn't…

Learning to Trust Him

Over the years I've come to realise that everything has a purpose in my life. Nothing happens in my life without a reason.  The all seeing, all knowing God is always around when we go through life's blessings and difficulties... nothing happens behind His back. I've learned to accept that there is a lesson to be learnt in whatever situation I find myself.  Whenever we encounter challenges in our faith journey, the way we deal with them determines whether we move a level forward or a level…

FORMULA OR FAITH

FORMULA OR FAITH

By John Stumbo

Editor’s Note: The following is adapted from An Honest Look at a Mysterious Journey by John Stumbo, the story of his battle with a rare illness that nearly cost him his life.

My understanding of the ways God works was again put to the test one night in late May [2009]. The national conference of our denomination—a couple thousand believing people—was gathered in Louisville, Kentucky. As has been the custom for probably a century,…

To All of My Friends!

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have made an appearance. I am still here in Pune with my family, and the ministry is going very well. For the past while I have been busy with the church planting ministry. We have grown so much! I appreciate all of your prayers, I'll try to keep in touch as best I can.

In His Service,

The Big Explosion

Living in a home with a group of other adults is never fun. Try having one of those adults be a creepy stepbrother and you will understand my dilemma.   My mother hates him.  I mean HATES him with a captial H.  She accuses him of spreading gossip about the family around the neighborhood.  He constantly denies this but my mother swears she hears…

Reality or Real Life

I was sitting home last night watching the real housewives of beverlyhills.  Taylor's husband Russell is the one who committed suicide.  Reportedly he didn't like the way he was going to be portrayed.  Being known as a woman beater won't win you any popularity contest. Ask Chris Brown.  I can't helpe but wonder how could he and anyone else who…
