Growing in Godliness

God’s word instructs us in godly conduct, in holiness joined with contentment.  Which is exceedingly, of great means? (1 Tim 6:6)  Now godliness with contentment is great gain. This must issue godly attitudes from the heart if the heart is tuned into God; and given to sound doctrine and not having anything to do with gossip.  To conform to Christ as an act of…

Gods Love

Joh 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

This does not mean that God approved the conduct of men, but that he had benevolent feelings toward them, or was “earnestly desirous” of their happiness. God hates wickedness, but he still…

Salvation

Introduction

A school boy walked into his class room with a shotgun and killed all his class and the teacher, at the end of 2003.  A 17 year old murdered a 10 year old girl.  What is happening to the youth these days' what we watch on TV the movies we choose to watch all starts of with a thought, as the more we think on it then becomes an action and we rehearse it out in our…

What Spirit Possesses You to Sing

2Co 5:1  For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Your Heavenly Father never intended for you to dwell in the earthly realm, constantly looking at and dwelling on your problems.  You were birthed for the heavenlies. In fact, you are the only creature of…

Then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark

"Then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark."

Genesis 8:9

Wearied out with her wanderings, the dove returns at length to the ark as her only resting place. How heavily she flies--she will drop--she will never reach the ark! But…

"Thou shalt love thy neighbour."

What to do in the Storm.

What to do in the Storm. Read chapter 14 of Matthew.

Jesus was real.

He did not fake or hide who he was or how he felt.

But in his ‘realness’ we see what he did with his heartache.

Case in point—word comes to him that John the Baptist has been killed. Can you imagine Jesus’ grief? After all, not only was John his cousin, not only had he announced the coming of the Messiah and then baptized him, Jesus said of John, ‘of all…

When Life Seems Unfair

When Life Seems Unfair

In our world today so many things seem to be spiraling out of control. Inflation and unemployment are on the rise. More people are losing their homes. War and rumors of war seem to be happening around the world. We often stop and wonder why these things are happening and to people who love God. If God is God why do the righteous face such struggles and often times the unrighteous seem to prosper in the midst of apparent chaos?

When life…

Which Bible version is the right one?

Anyone ready to open a can of worms?  Well, here goes.  And guys, please remember, I post my own OPINION on this blog.

There are a huge number of versions or translations, (interpretations?), languages not withstanding.  I will not name them all, because most everyone that might read this knows what I'm talking about.  I, personally, like the New King James; primarily because the language is more straight forward, but it still maintains the better aspects of the original King…

Choose your words wisely. Read Matthew 12.

but words will never hurt me.” Who thought up that clever little ditty? It may roll off the tongue, but it is such a lie! Words do hurt.

The tired mother hurls,…
