All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

  • The value of people
  • How people are to be treated in church
  • Following up visitors, phone call, a letter, on behalf of the church
  • A strategy for responding to both positive & negative feedback

 1.     The value of  people

Jesus saw people extremely special in his eyes and precious.  For he holds us as the apple of his eye, in spite of our make up, when we would turn away on Him he cares for us still, when we are hurting, he hurts.  God loves us so much, that he made men in his own image.  Each person has a talent.  Some are visible and some talents are unseen each person is unique, that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God.

Each person is rare and has a unique quality in them.  We are of great use and importance towards each other in giving of ourselves in service.  The death of Christ shows people are valuable to him when He laid down his life for them.  To God people have value and are unique individuals with great worth & significance.  All are precious in Gods eyes. “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; Jn 15:9 Which brings me to?

3      Following up visitors on behalf of the church

For the first time go out of your way, by being your self be sensitive to their religion irrespective of their culture.  Be informative, showing you care and you hold them at interest.  Listen to information irrespective, take into account special needs you can identify with yourself.  Next time follow up by visiting them. Invite the person to a men’s meeting and make sure they meet the pastor there find out a little about them, greet them to others make a phone call to catch up, and offer to have a cup of coffee with them give a information pack about church activities you can send a letter with a gift for the person.

4      A simple strategy for responding to both positive & negative feedback.

I’ll respond to a positive approach by showing interest in the person, and listening to any need that arises.  And with feedback respond by giving information according to their need.  To a negative response I would react by listening to their comments taking into account “They do not need to go away; for I will give them something to think about & act on. They are just as special and distinctive as I am.  And respond to their needs.  Accordingly to each person’s desire
