...not by sight.

2 Cor 5:7 NIV We live by faith, not by sight.

GW Indeed, our lives are guided by faith, not by sight.

Rom 8:24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?

1 Cor 13:12 Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will… Continue

Experience Breakthrough.

Back on August 30th, in a Morning Briefing entitled “The Deeper Life”, I wrote that I believe God is calling you and me to live just that—the deeper life. To let our roots go down deeply into the rich foundations of the living Word of God, like the Psalm One man. “He delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams—a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he…

WE ARE NOT IMMUNE BUT GOD HELPS US OVERCOME

Psalm 64 (King James Version)

Have you ever met anybody who makes a game out of being cunning? Looks for mistakes or errors, finds fault and then sneaks in for the kill? Being Christians we face it pretty much every day, as we all have throughout the ages. David was continuously being attacked by his enemies. Sometimes out of jealousy, sometimes hatred, sometimes just out of a play for power. This still happens to us all, at one time or another today. Do we get angry? Do we retaliate? Do… Continue

HE LOVES US MORE

I never understood the love a mother has for her child until this past year when i became a mother for the first time. Its crazy how God has brought this tiny, beautiful, sweet lil miss diva into my life to bring me closer to him. God has shown me things through my daughter that realy helped me to understand how much God realy loves me. Not just me but all of his children. For example, i have learnt the cries of Emma very well. i know when she's just pouting bc she dosent get her way, and…

GOD HAS BLESSED ME

I am praising Jesus for the life he has given me this day. No matter the storms of life they are ALL worth it and He ALWAYS walks along with me. The enemy has repeatedly and without ceasing tried to discourage me from doing good by pulling out the most meanest spiritness of his artillery in these first three years of my walk with our Lord. God has seen to it that I draw from him enough strength to withstand. He has blessed me much in this time with this family here at AAG, a home church for the… Continue

Before the Fall: Lessons in Pride

Spiritual Life

Before the Fall: Lessons in Pride

In Sunday school, my teachers liked to illustrate everything. Any major biblical concept could be explained with a felt board and Velcro paper.

I clearly remember how they portrayed a prideful person. It was usually a male with his arms folded and his big nose lifted in the air. He thought he was better than everyone else. His lofty attitude would always precede “a fall” as quoted in Proverbs 16:18. I wasn’t…

GOD WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU

There are times in our lives when we think God is not listening to our prayers or our pleas for His help in times of trouble. Times when we let doubt creep in and begin to feel and think He has forsaken us. When that doubt creeps in, is it not WE who have forsaken HIM?? When we start feeling and thinking that way are we not, in essence, saying we do not believe in His promises to us. If the path we are on has many obstacles, it is then that faith in that which we cannot see should be coming… Continue

ARE YOU A DISCIPLE ?

Question

I'm confused by the different explanations people have for "a disciple" and "a Christian." Some say that a "disciple" must be a "Christian," but that a "Christian" need not be a "disciple." In short, more is expected of a "disciple" than of a "Christian." Please help.

Answer

The controversy that you have heard about, that is, a person being a "Christian" without being a "disciple," is another one of Satan's lies. You see, there are people within the church that want to… Continue

TRUTH IS...

I find myself in a ...

( this is not a clever made up story, to make a point to anyone. this just happened a little while ago and I felt lead to share)

I find myself in a wonderful position. Not all of the bills are caught up. I still have things wrong w/ my body. But, as I sit down to eat my homemade chicken potpie, a feeling of gratefulness sweeps over me.…

Not Giving Up.

This story is so cute, had to share.

Two frogs in the milk

This is the story of two frogs. One frog was big and the other skinny. One day, while searching for food, they inadvertently jumped into a vat of milk. They couldn't get out, as the sides were too slippery, so they were just swimming around.

The big frog said to the skinny frog, "Brother frog, there's no use paddling any longer. We're just going to drown, so we might as well give up." The skinny…

three things needed to win the lost

Introduction: Welcome to New Life in Christ. This morning we are starting in Chapter 15 of the Book of Luke in our verse-by-verse teaching series out of that book.

Read Luke 15:1-10

Opening Prayer

I’ve heard about a little six-year old boy who restlessly struggled to listen to a rather lengthy sermon. After the service, the little boy asked the question that sooner or later most "church kids" ask. "Dad" he said, "what does the preacher do the rest of the week?"… Continue

LET JESUS BE YOUR LIGHTHOUSE

PSALM 70

When affliction is all around us and the darkness of this world surrounds us, TRUST IN THE LORD to deliver us. HE is the ONLY power that can overthrow the darkness.

Let me be your lighthouse,

Your port in every storm

Come to me, my beloved child

I’ll keep you safe and warm

When oceans swell around you,

You can banish all your fear

I’ll pluck you from the surging sea

Just trust that I am here.

IS THERE ANYTHING BIG ENOUGH TO STEAL YOUR JOY? NOPE!!! :D

THEY THAT SOW IN TEARS SHALL REAP IN JOY.

For every hurt ever dealt to us, every pain inflicted on us and any adversity that threatens to fall upon us we are told by Our Heavenly Father to never be discouraged. From God comes this promise that our tears and sorrows He will turn to Joy. There is no man or anything in this world that can steal the joy that lives in our very hearts and souls. Many will come and attempt to strip us down to the bone but they cannot touch our… Continue
