Thirst

Are we not all feeling a strong desire or need for something else?

Time after time have our actions or thoughts not quenched our need for something? How long will we be moved by our thirst?  How long will we bend and how loud will we bellow? Day after day what words will we let spill of our tongues. Just so the thirst is quenched. But after…  Are we not still thirsty?

The word says

John 4:14 - But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;…

The Awkward Pastor's Wife

My cousin Chrystal has a blog site she's called The Awkward Pastor's Wife.  She typically posts some quite funny lessons in life she's learned along the way.  But her latest is sad news.  Yet the way she's handling it is a blessing to read.…

Miracles Among Us. Ministry on the street.

Hydro, Tex, Enhancer, Reggie and the Duke of Earl – all street names, but all people I came to love and pray for regularly. Of all the Long Beach street people profiled, the Duke of Earl captured the hearts of folks the most. You will remember that my first impressions of him could be categorized as apprehensive at best. The reason I first noticed him was because of his big intimidating presence and his cold, dark eyes. All of that has changed.

Several weeks ago, the Duke said, “I am…

Our Lives Are Letters

OUR LIVES ARE LETTERS

by David Wilkerson

Spending time in the presence of the Lord produces a manifestation of Christ to a lost world.

“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not. But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight…

The Lord Is There

“THE LORD IS THERE”

by David Wilkerson

To be a member of God’s true Church, you must be known by the name of Jehovah Shammah—Hebrew for “The Lord is there” (Ezekiel 48:35). Others must be able to say of you, “It’s clear to me that the Lord is with this person. Every time I see him, I sense the presence of the Lord. His life truly reflects the glory and presence of God.”

If we are honest, we must admit we do not sense the Lord’s…

1 Peter 5:10 - Devotion by Charles H. Spurgeon

“After that ye have suffered awhile, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

- 1Pe_5:10

You have seen the arch of heaven as it spans the plain: glorious are its colours, and rare its hues. It is beautiful, but, alas, it passes away, and lo, it is not. The fair colours give way to the fleecy clouds, and the sky is no longer brilliant with the tints of heaven. It is not established. How can it be? A glorious show made up of transitory sun-beams and passing…

salt

Matthew 5:13-16King James Version (KJV)

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Who of use will be the unsalted?  Who of use shall lose the flavor and be good for nothing but to be cast aside and trampled by men.  Who among us will stand ready?  If men declare themselves the salt then how will you remain so.  Know…

Are you an Entrepreneur? Long Beach.

‘Seems I barely get home from Long Beach and I am missing being with my people, and I begin to ask God for the next week’s message. ‘There’s something more . . . I just know there is . . . at least, there ought to be,’ I was thinking at the start of this last week. I was feeling unsettled inside.

‘Lord, show me why I feel this way about Long Beach,’ I prayed. You see,

I have learned that when God stirs the waters in ministry, it usually means he is about to give…

“Called to be saints.” By Charles H. Spurgeon

“Called to be saints.”

- Rom_1:7

We are very apt to regard the apostolic saints as if they were “saints” in a more especial manner than the other children of God. All are “saints” whom God has called by His grace, and sanctified by His Spirit; but we are apt to look upon the apostles as extraordinary beings, scarcely subject to the same weaknesses and temptations as ourselves. Yet in so doing we are forgetful of this truth, that the nearer a man lives to God the more…

Powerful men brought low

Let's talk about three people who were affected and effected by pride . ANd they are King Uzziah in 2 Chronicles 26, King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4 , and King Herod in Acts 12.

Lets begin with King Uzziah who  had the right attiude always ready to please the Lord and sought him first. AS the word of God says in 2 Chronicles 26:5-  While Zechariah was alive Uzziah was always eager to please God. Zechariah was a man who had special revelations from God. And as long as the king…
