My story with God: I lived a life from not one but 2 broken homes, after the first my step dad beat me and my sister and was abusive, after we went to live with our dad we got to the age of 16 when he left us and my step mum turned on me with violence. This in turn led me to violence with football hooligans, alcohol, drugs and crime. At 18 I managed to get away and join the army. I took this violence with me always managing to be up for a fight and a bucket load of drink. I met my first wife and she had children from a previous marriage and we had 2 of our own, life was not easy and on Halloween days years ago in 2006 She was killed in a car crash and I nearly lost my kids as well. In a flat spin I turned back to alcohol not knowing where my life was going and one day I tried to end it. Clearly I failed and woke in hospital.
Over time I met Emma and she and I became close and I could open up to her, she became my rock and support and ultimately we were married. We had 2 children of our own meaning we know had 4 at home but still things were not right I would snap, have outbursts and get drunk and aggressive. Emma was raised in a church and wanted to start going so I was dragged along kicking and screaming, over time I began to take an interest in things going on and started to read a Bible and thought that I was a Christian but I was wrong. I was still full of anger and hatred and this was affecting both my health and family. Then in Church in March 2013 I stood in church and asked God if he was real to take away all my pain as I could not deal with it anymore. Immediately I felt like someone had punched me through the back and out of my chest and I stood in tears. People around me where telling me it was the Holy Spirit but I was not sure, over the next few weeks I realised I saw the world differently, no longer did I feel anger, I didn't want a drink or fight, I could see beauty in all things. I realised it was Jesus and I was saved. I got quickly baptised in my church and then in Oct 2014 I was sent to Sierra Leone for the Ebola outbreak and there is spent a lot of time with God. It was here He called me into ministry and by the Grace of God I was accepted into ELim Regents College where I am in second year of my degree and I am in training at my church as a pastor. Life has gone from strength to strength and even with my recent diagnosis of Stage 3 Kidney disease from which there is no cure I find myself protected, feeling secure and safe in the knowledge of He who saved my will not forsake me.
God literally turned my life upside down and has begun works in me to change me and mould me into the man I was meant to be.

Other stuff about me:: love to meet new people, to engage with people about God's grace and love and learn other peoples points of view on matters.
