This is a poem I wrote for my pastor who preached on Christ's Second Coming for Easter Sunday. God told him to preach on that specific topic versus the Resurrection. He asked me to present it before the congregation. I would like to share it with you:

THE RIDER ON A WHITE HORSE

Darkness has enveloped the earth.
There is an aura of things not all right.
The media expresses concern and worry
as the days soon turn into night.

Is this an eclipse whom no one was informed?
Or the sign of a world coming to an end?
Blood, fire, and billows of smoke precede the night.
Human minds have trouble to comprehend.

The flames of the sun touch the earth.
Raging fire erupts from this nuclear blast
as the world’s skies are blackened as night
causing people to be apprehensive and aghast.

The night displays an unusual sight.
The moon in love songs and poetry sung and read
has now changed to everyone’s surprise.
It has turned from glowing white to blood-like red.

Not used to experiencing such phenomena,
people cower in madness, anxiety and are scared.
Yet, those who know The Word reflect peace.
They are on their knees before God in prayer.

Suddenly, without notice, the Heavens open,
And trumpets sound forth as on queue.
Shouts from an archangel and heavenly beings
announce a rider on a horse called Faithful and True.

The rider’s eyes are like blazing fire.
Many crowns sit upon His head.
He wears a majestic kingly robe
which is dipped in redemptive blood and bright red.

From His mouth comes a sharp sword,
And He will rule like an iron rod.
The nations of enemies ready themselves for the fight
as they look upon the rider called Word of God.


The armies of Heaven follow after Him
riding on horses white as snow.
They are adorned in white linen of purity
which sets their bodies all aglow.

The rider carries the wrath of God.
Like the winepress upon which He does tread,
the fury will be extracted as He speaks.
Judgment will be spoken and widespread.

There is an appointed time and plan,
Graves are opened and taken in flight.
Angels gather beings from east, west, north and south.
God’s children leave at the angels’ invite.

He comes not as a soldier to do battle
Other means to war are preferred.
The power to destroy the enemy is truth.
The Antichrist and Satan are destroyed by a Word.

Who is this mighty, noble rider
who comes in fury and cannot be ignored?
He is none other than the Chosen One of God
Who is named King of Kings, Lord of Lords.

He comes as a thief in the night
to take away His chosen who have endured.
Are you ready to receive Him unto yourself?
Is your Salvation complete and ensured?
