I am ashamed it has been so long since I have been on this site..and If I replied to you already and forgot..please forgive me. My dad is doing well. We nearly lost him several years ago to a rare disease that that we think he got through a blood transfusion. I hate to say I can't remember the name of it right now..but it produced too much calcium in his body. Usually black people have this not whites. It caused him to sleep near all of the time.
But he is doing well and pastors church here in South Ga.
I will try to ask him more about his army days. He hated it so bad that he burnt all of his things when he got home..lol..now he wishes he hadn't of course. He never even had an official picture made. Can't remember where he was but he missed it!

WHEN I WAS A CHILD
"Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:1-4)

Paul was saying in these verses that our relationship with other Christians is so important. That is being others centered and not self centered. This is our state when we are born into the world. When we are babies life is all about us, what we need, what we want, and if we do not get it everyone hears about it around us. Everything is about what makes me feel good.

“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I no longer used childish ways.” (1Corinthians 13:11)

Something happens to a healthy person as they grow up, they realize they are not the center of the universe and that everything does not revolve around them. Philippians 2:1-4 is a description of a maturing Christian.

There is nothing worse to deal with than some one who has refused to grow up. It is still all about what they want and when they don't get there way everyone knows about it.

As Christians we should be growing up in God, maturing in our relationships with other, and putting away childish ways of interacting with each other. I hate it when I see myself at times still acting like a child in my relationships with others.

PRAYER
Father God we are so immature some times in how we interact with others. We still want to make it all about ourselves. So Father help us to grow up in our relationships with others and in how we relate to you. In Jesus name amen.

I love the Hebrew language, especially the name for the Holy Spirit, "Ruach HaKodesh." It has so much authority and grace in it.
My pastor has been going through a teaching series on the names of Jehovah, yesterday we studied Jehovah Nissi how Moses built and alter after the defeat of the Amalekites and declared God as the Lord our Banner. I love the fact that there was team work that brought the victory Joshua, his army, Moses, Aaron, and Her. This how we overcome the enemies in our lives. Together with Jehovah as our Banner.

In the love of Jesus

IN HIS PREASENCE THERE IS FULLNESS OF JOY

“You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” ( Psalm 16:11 )

“For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.”
( Psalm 21:6 )

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.” ( Psalm 46:4 )

I love being in the presence of the Lord giving praise and worship to Him. All of my problems seem so small and I experience joy. Being in His presence is the single most important part of our lives as Christians. Yes He is present with us always with us in the person of the Holy Spirit that abides within us, but I am talking about purposely through prayer, praise, and worship setting aside everything else and seeking His face. I find that I hunger and thirst more and more to just be in this place of worship and communion.
When we talk about experiencing the presence of the Lord, we are talking about the realization of God’s presence – of perceiving His presence and being conscious of Him.

Practicing the presence through praise and worship is the most valuable things we can do. God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience His presence in ever increasing measures.

Prayer;

Father God we can't put into words what it means to us to come into the Holy place and commune with you. We find all that we will ever need in this holy place where you are exalted and lifted up,

Our trials and tribulations seem like nothing, our burdens seem to just melt away in your glorious presence Holy God. It almost seems foolish to doubt you and think that your not going to take care of us. We are reminded when we are with you that you gave your Son to save us, and to open up a door for us to draw near to You. We find our faith to sour when we are with you. You did not with hold your Son to save us, then we can rest assured that you will give us all we need.

So Father God we exalt you and glorify your name, Holy Spirit thank you for pouring the love of God into our hearts, Jesus we owe our lives to you for saving us from our sins.

Holy God, filled with spindler and majesty we exalt you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Be glorified and magnified in our live, and as we learn to come into your holy court we will find you and our heart will overflow with joy unspeakable and full of glory. So we worship you.
In Jesus name amen.
