My story with God
I was raised in the 60's and 70's in the Salvation Army (yes, it is a church!) by my late parents, and I accepted Jesus as my savior at a very young age.
As I grew up and entered my early teens I was passionate about my relationship with Jesus, and all my friends in school knew I was a Christian.
Shortly before I turned 17, I began to experiment with recreational drugs, and I backslid quite badly. I remained that way, and used drugs throughout my adult life.
In the late 1990's, I began to drink and within a few years I was an alcoholic. I quit drinking in April 2004, and re-dedicated my life to Jesus Christ.
In the Summer of 2006, I suddenly became very sick and weak and I was in a great deal of pain. By late September of that year, I was diagnosed with advanced emphysema, Fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and congestive heart failure.
By the end of October 2006, I was forced to retire and abandon my career as a restaurant chef. I applied for Social Security disability which was approved in August 2009.
These days, Jesus Christ is my everything, my Lord, my Savior and my King, and my relationship with Him is closer and more intimate than I ever thought it could be.
The majority of my ministry is done online. I minister to other people who, like myself, are disabled and nearly housebound, and are unable to attend church and fellowship meetings. I help people online and over the phone, and I have met people and made friends literally all over the world. I have friends on every continent expect Antarctica!
I'm here at AllAboutGod to share myknowledge, and hopefully bring others into the same knowledge of Jesus Christ that I have.
Other stuff about me:
I'm 48 years old, and a native of Los Angeles, where I was born. I lived there until 1995, when my mother and I moved to upper northeast Tennessee. Mom went home to be with Jesus in March 2007, and I am still living in Tennessee.
I do the majority of my ministerial and activist work at Care2.com. Care2.com is populated by mostly very-liberal people, and I myself am indeed very liberal. Socio-politically I indentify myself a Democratic Socialist.
I give praise and glory and great thanksgiving that God my Father has lead me to AllAboutGod.net, and I am thrilled to be here. I'm reallly looking forward to making some friends here among my brothers and sisters, and I pray the Lord will give me great opportunities to minister His love at this site!
