Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His Great Mercy hath regenerated us unto a Lively Hope, by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, {1Pet 1:3} A Lively Hope! Not just words like maybe; if only; I wish this or that. No!! But, a Lively Hope one that we have been regenerated into. Or in other words, we are Born Again of this Hope. So we see now that this Hope begins as our Belief. Then we Must mature into the Knowledge that we have that we are Loved, “according to His Great Mercy.”

To Know you are Loved, is a Power the enemy has no defence against. Let us meditate on His Love for us, allow that Knowledge to fill our hearts and minds. What is it that cast out fear? We know it to be, “Perfect Love!” Such Love has no fear, because Perfect Love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His Perfect Love. {1John 4:18} For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received The Spirit of the Adoption of Children by Whom we cry, “Father, our Father.” {1John 4:18} The Love God The Father, God The Son, and God The Spirit has is, Perfect Love. It is the Love before any other love. Jesus Sacrificed Himself in obedience to The Father, and His Love for us.

The Knowledge that God knows our hearts, helps us in so many ways. In this example, even, “If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His Perfect Love.” By God knowing our hearts, He knows the desires also. The enemy will try to make us feel negative in any and every way. Knowing God Loves us, Believing God Loves us, even having the desire for this Knowledge and the Benefits we gain from this Knowledge. God knowing the desires of our hearts, He will give you your heart's desire and carry out all your plans. {Ps 20:4} This helps those who feel, they are not being successful in their walk. Many have the idea they must be perfect, to walk in Victory. And, if they have struggles, then they are not maturing in The Lord.

In these three verses. They tell us much about the Hope we have in The Lord. Some trans. use the word Confidence. We have this Confidence (Hope) as a Sure and Strong Anchor for our lives. This Confidence goes into the [Holy] Place behind the Curtain {Heb 6:19} Our Hope is a Sure and Strong Anchor for our lives. Our Hope brings us; goes into the Holy Place behind the Curtain. This speaks of our Relationship with Holy Spirit. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who Loved us and by His Grace gave us Eternal Comfort and a Wonderful Hope, {2Thes 2:16} Here we see we are Loved and given Grace from Jesus and The Father, our Wonderful Hope is the Gift of Eternal Comfort. And everyone who has this Hope based on Him keeps himself pure, just as the Messiah is pure. {1John 3:3} We know we are able to keep ourselves pure, based on the abilities our Hope for Eternal Life gives us. We Love Our Lord. We also know because He Loves us, we are able to Love Him. We want to please The Father; we want to obey Him; we want to be lead by The Spirit, all these things to help us operate in our Gifts, and fulfill God’s Will for our lives. So in all things we want to give all the Glory to Jesus, and help others do the same.

Chris,

When I first started out, hope was a wish. Now, as I grow in the Lord, it is a confidence...a knowledge....a tangible thing.

Blessings, my brother.....

We have this Confidence (Hope) as a Sure and Strong Anchor for our lives. This Confidence goes into the [Holy] Place behind the Curtain {Heb 6:19} As we read The Word.  Like this verse, at first we can say this is a sentence.  Then as believers we see it as, The Word of God.  Like you have said, "When I first started out..."  As we apply Faith it becomes Knowledge.  This Knowledge then can turn {as we meditate, Pray, and begin to trust The Word} into Understanding.  I believe as The Word goes from, Words then into Knowledge.  As we continue in the Lord, having Understanding shows us through Wisdom, how to apply the Word.  To this verse, we are able to see how we gain Confidence; Hope in The Lord.  Which will open the door into which, we continue to follow God's Will for our life.

In His Love

The scripture that you quoted that seems to sum it up best for me was Heb. 6:19  "Which hope we have as an ANCHOR OF THE SOUL, (capitals mine) both sure and steadfast.... "

In this world of turmoil and chaos and ever changing attitudes and standards it is good to have an anchor for our soulso  that we are not pulled into the world's ways.

God bless

I am in complete agreement with,  "We have this Confidence (Hope) as a Sure and Strong Anchor for our lives..."  We are able to see in so many, many ways that, God The Father, The Son, and The Spirit, through out The Word we are connected to Him.  We are asked to, Believe; use our Faith, and in what?  HIS LOVE FOR US!!!  We can see His Love through out Creation.  We can see His Love by, all that Jesus did and doing for us.  We can see His Love in that, once Jesus sat down at The Fathers right side, The Holy Spirit works in us and around us.  The Spirit carries out the Will of The Father.  Jesus Prays for us to The Father.  The Father knows what we need and He only wants the best for us.  He knows about bills; things we want and would like; where we need to be mentally, physically, emotionally.  He knows what we must have to be a child of His, a part of His Family.  We all know I could go on and on.  Yet, the point is, He also knows what that on and on is better than we do.

He asks us to Trust in Him.  And, for that Trust we are cared for both, here and then forever.  So my Brother I agree that has the Power to steady our course, or Anchor our Soul.  Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, and Hallelujah, WE PRAISE YOUR MOST HOLY AND LOVING NAME.  THANK YOU DADDY.

Lord Bless

HOPE is a Trustful expectation, particularly with reference to the fulfillment of God's promises. it is the anticipation of a favorable outcome under God's guidance and hope is the confidence that what God has done for us in the past He will do in the future. While the New Testament affirms the sufficiency of Christ's redemptive work in the past, it also looks forward to His return in the future to complete God's purpose. the major emphasis on hope in the New Testament centers on the second coming of Christ. {Titis 2:13}  while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. The expectation of individuals after their death and of the world when God brings present world affairs to an end. The English word "hope" can imply certainty or uncertainty as well as good or bad expectations of the future. For example, I hope it does not rain today. The Greek word for hope, elpis, carried a similar range of implications in everyday usage in a nonreligious context. The element of certainty/uncertainty is found in the few New Testament uses of elpis with a nonreligious meaning (Acts 27:20; Rom. 15:24; 1 Cor. 16:7; 2 Cor. 1:13-14; 5:11; 10:15; Phil. 2:19; 1 Tim. 3:14-15). This contrasts to the world's definition of hope as "a feeling that what is wanted will happen." Understood in this way, hope can denote either a baseless optimism or a vague yearning after an unattainable good. If hope is to be genuine hope, however, it must be founded on something (or someone) which affords reasonable grounds for confidence in its fulfillment. The Bible bases its hope in God and His saving acts. WE live in hope for two reasons the first is because of what God has done in Christ. Especially important is the emphasis the New Testament places on the resurrection by which Christ has defeated the power of sin and death. "By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" 1 pet  1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The second reason is  is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  The basis of this hope lies in God. In Him who is the Savior of all mankind one puts hope (1 Tim. 4:10; 5:5; Rom. 15:12; 1 Pet. 1:21), rather than in uncertain riches (1 Tim. 6:17); in His name is hope placed (Matt. 12:21), or in Christ (1 Cor. 15:19). This hope is linked closely to the gospel (Col. 1:23), to our calling into God's grace (Eph. 1:18; 4:4) and to faith and the presence of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:5). It is a dynamically living hope (1 Pet. 1:3) which motivates one to holy and righteous living (2 Pet. 3:14). As such it stands as member of the Christian triad of faith, hope, and love (1 Cor. 13:13; 1 Thess. 1:3; Col. 1:4-5).

Christopher

We are so very Blessed to be able to put our belief in Jesus, this belief which we are able to stand on as Hope.  As the verses you have shared back up this knowledge.  To Know with Confidence that we are able to Trust in Him; to Hope in Him.  To know our Hope in Christ is not as a "maybe," but a True Understanding, and a complete Confidence in Him.  Bless you my Brother.  What you have shared backs all of this up.
