Greetings Prayer Room Participants,

Something has been brought to my attention that I need to address. It is our desire for this room to be a place to bring prayer requests and to ask for brothers and sisters in Christ to stand with us in our time of need. At the same time we need to be mindful of how we pray. By this, I mean that though we want to pray positively for others we need to be very careful regarding the language we use, especially when the request we are praying for involves another person who is part of the reason the prayer requests is being brought forth. We need to choose our words wisely and make sure that we are not digressing into a situation where we are name calling or accusing another of being of the devil.

There are number of factors I could go over, but think it not wise to give to much attention to negative actions and will simply encourage us to focus on the request and laying it before God without accusing another. For in any request our goal must always be a righteous outcome of which only God can know the exact answer that is needed in any situation.

Because this is a serious situation that can lead to other problems for individuals and TheNET our team will need to monitor the Prayer Room more closely and will need to remove remarks that appear to be derogatory.

If you see any comments that appear questionable please inform me immediately. You will stay anonymous and I will make the final judgment on the comment in question.

(NEW) Because this is an open group that is visible to the worldwide web we need to refrain from using names when praying for others without their permission.

Lord Bless,

LT

Hello everyone. Just an update. Jerry is doing a lot better. Thank you to everyone who prayed for him. I also wanted to share something with everyone here that I posted in my Philosophy class today. I just felt like I should share it. I think God wants me to. God bless!

You know, at first, I posted that I think ethical egoism is just selfish. I have read more in our book and have decided to change my view a bit. I think if someone "only" purely thinks of their own interests and never the interests of others, then yes it's selfish, but it hit me when I was reading about the feminism views of ethics that it isn't wrong to care for our own needs before the needs of others "if" it makes us more equipped to help others. We have to fill up our own well before we can fill up the wells of others. We can only give so much before we are just plain drained and have no energy left for ourselves or anyone else for that matter. I think so many people, myself included, feel guilty when we don't give more to others. I thank God that I read about ethical feminism in our book because it made me realize that when we don't take care of ourselves, we can't very well take very good care of anyone else. It's actually selfish not to take care of ourselves, whether it's spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, etc.. If we don't, then we can't be the very best person we are capable of being for others too.

I liked the part I read about Jesus saying we need to help the weak too. Think about it. We are all weak when it comes down to the plain and simple facts. Sure, we'd like to think we are always strong, but we aren't. Every person is weak to some extent. It could be from something like their temper, mental conditions, or just inner turmoils that we each have in an individual sense. Something makes us weak. It could even be a relationship with another person. So by Jesus telling us to help the weak, in essence, He is telling us to help ourselves too. We must help ourselves in order to help other weak people. My faith has brought me to a greater understanding too because the well I spoke about earlier, for me, involves first filling up with the strength of God. He fills me up. I also get filled up with His wisdom and through taking care of my mental capacities, etc...

I just had to share this with everyone because it made me feel so peaceful when I realized it. Thank God for His wisdom too.

As King David said, WASH ME THOROUGHLY FROM MY
INIQUITY, AND CLEANSE ME FROM MY SIN.
( PSALM 51:2 *NKJV )

Here’s a daily prayer …. WASH DAY….

may serve you with perfect humility through the week ahead.

Tuesday Ironing Day
Dear Lord, help me iron out all the wrinkles
of prejudice I have collected through the years so that I may
see the beauty in others.

O God, help me mend my ways so I will not
set a bad example for others.

Thursday Cleaning Day
Lord Jesus, help me to dust out all the many faults I have been
hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

Friday Shopping Day
O God, give me the grace to shop wisely so I may purchase
eternal happiness for myself and all others in need of love.

Saturday Cooking Day
Help me, my Savior, to brew a big kettle of brotherly love and
serve it with clean, sweet bread of human kindness.

Sunday The Lord's Day
O God, I have prepared my house for you. Please come into my
heart so I may spend the day and the rest of my life in your
presence.

Hi everyone. I know I have been absent here but I need prayers and don't know where to turn. I never ask for help, but I am struggling so much right now. My marriage is about over and don't know how to fix it. He hates me and is only allowing me to stay here for financial reasons.

Please pray that God changes my heart so that I can begin to be a good wife to my husband. Please pray that God will open my husbands heart to me. Please pray that God will protect and bless this marriage. Please pray that God will heal my husband, he is hurting so much and I cannot reach him. Please pray that I can stay strong through all of this. He is all that I have.

Five Finger Prayer

This is beautiful, and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So, begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

I just got off the phone with my mother-in-law, and she told me that Jerry had open-heart surgery to put 4 stints in. So far he is doing alright, but he is still in ICU too. Thank God that he survived the surgery. He is 70 years old, so God was with him in his surgery too. Please pray he will make a swift recovery. Thank you so much.

Hello everyone. I am asking today for your help. My father-in-law, Jerry is in the hospital right now. He suffered from a massive heart attack earlier this morning. They had to shock him back to life once already. Please keep him and my mother-in-law in your prayers, along with his brother. Jerry is in ICU right now. Please pray that any forgiveness issues that Jerry and Judy have toward Ron (his brother) get solved too. They need to be closer and unforgiveness is holding them back. Thank you so much and God bless you all. <>/body>
