My Love is as a sunrise~
In simple majestic splendor.
In the still, clear dawn I lift my face,
And His golden rays brush it with gentle fingers.
His light fills me with courage
And trustful anticipation.
I know not what a day holds,
But this I do know...
Together, it will not be
ordinary,
too hard,
or wasted.

My Love is as a forest of pine~
His fragrance fills my soul.
I listen to His silence & I am refreshed, quieted & renewed.
I am entranced as I watch the dappled, dazzling light,
dance across the gurling crystal stream.
I hear His voice that stirs the tree tops,
I see His shining promise in the clouds!
A squirrel scampers down from the braches above.
A lizard climbs a rock in the sun.
Even the raucous jays at their play,
Can't break the spell of peace
He has wound. -

My Love's eyes are terrible in their intensity,
As an army with banners & bugles & drums!
My heart quakes within me, but my feet will not turn to run.
My Love's will can overcome me,
With my one little whispered, "yes."
The enemies within must scatter &
Leave nothing between my heart & His! -
